Maintenance Supervisor

• As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will coordinate all projects (e.g. renovations, installations, repairs etc) and ensure department priorities are met and completed.


• To keep Maintenance Manager informed of all the activities and incidence in the Engineering Department.


• Monitor and record utility consumption and assist the Maintenance Manager to maintain efficiency.


• Daily coordination of the technical team to work in his area of responsibility.


• You will be responsible for maintain the workshop, tools and plant rooms.


• You will monitor inventory of shelf stock and equipment and contribute to the development of the department maintenance budget and ensure compliance.


• You will monitor the Hotel's Preventative maintenance program


• You will synchronize the highest standards of general maintenance and possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.


• You will showcase your expertise by exercising good judgment and a strong intuition to anticipate the needs of the guests, and meet their existing concerns while leading by example for the team to emulate.


• You will manage and coordinate outside contractors within established guidelines


• You will ensure the hotel complies with all Government regulations pertaining to building code requirements, health, fire and life safety program monitoring energy management program to ensure cost effective use of utilities and reduce energy consumption


• You will maintain close and effective working relationship with all other Departments, and external contractors


• You will provide feedback and recommendations and coach the team of engineers to expeditiously resolve all maintenance requests.


• You will provide leadership, support and direction to the department


• You will serve as a key member of the hotel's emergency operation team and will be able to provide expertise in building operations and contingency plans for disaster management


• You will ensure that regular on-going communication takes place throughout the engineering operation to communicate daily operations activities, set expectations and create awareness of business objectives.


• You will ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process

• Must have experience in leading a team of Maintenance Employees


• Knowledgeable in all regulations such as building codes, fire and health department requirements


• Ability to positively communicate and instruct employees, Able to rephrase, or 'translate' fairly technical information into terms which a lay person may easily understand


• Ability to work effectively under pressure, changing conditions and priorities


• Ability to effectively review, assess and modify work as needed to ensure continual progress towards desired results

• Skill in use of computers and software programs associated with Property Operations


• Excellent Knowledge of Building HVAC operations, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical systems


• Must have knowledge of blue prints; reading, understanding and analyzing


• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
