Legal Manager
Location: Cairo, Egypt

What this position is about - Purpose:

We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Manager to oversee the legal
aspects of our business. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing
that the company follows Egyptian law guidelines and give legal advice to
management about all relevant issues. In this role you will support all JTI
functions from commercial to production connected with e.g. corporate,
competitive, commercial, and employment law. The successful candidate will
effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize the probability of exposure.
Within our structure, the role reports to Legal Director.

What will you do - Responsibilities:

• To review, advise, and draft diverse commercial agreements including but not limited to distribution of goods and services, storage, maintenance of equipment, imports and exports, manufacturing, sales, agency, contracting, and labor agreements, among others


• To engage with Marketing & Sales Functions on marketing initiatives and advise, review, and draft marketing & consumer activations-related contracts


• To engage with Corporate Affairs & Communication in lobbying initiatives before the Egyptian government as relevant to tax issues and corporate affairs tasks


• To lead and coordinate local expansion and regional business development projects which have an impact on JTI Egypt operations, and to liaise with business functions on related legal sensitivities


• To analyze legal risks as pertinent to complex projects associated with competition law, IP process improvement, trademarks, or product development


• To ensure efficient management of external counsel and timely defense submissions to competent courts

Who are we looking for - Requirements:

• University Degree Bachelor's of Law & Master's of Law Degrees


• +‎7 years of experience in General Corporate, M&A, Commercial Law, in-house or private practice roles


• Arabic & English languages proficiency - we work in both languages


• Computer skills (particularly MS Office & PowerPoint applications)


• Strong legal background, demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies


• High degree of professional ethics and integrity


• Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information. Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills


• Outstanding communication skills and stakeholders management


• Strong organization and project management skills
