Head of Risk

Key Responsibilities:

• Ultimately responsibility for overall risk management, and ensuring compliance with regulations, good practices by regulators and other relevant prudential requirements applicable.


• Assisting the CEO & Group CRO to build the newly established unit and expected to harness a strong Risk governance framework in KSA.


• Providing robust independent oversight and monitoring of counterparty, Operational, Fraud, and IT risk.


• Developing and implementing integrated risk management strategy; framework and control system to ensure the operation within an agreed risk appetite and compliance with internal policy and external regulatory obligations.


• Work closely with the Group Risk Management units to ensure the Group methodologies, policies, procedures and limit frameworks are established in KSA.


• Finding the right balance of managing robust systems and controls, with enabling business goals.


• Lead the management of change through continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices considering global standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.


• Building and maintaining effective controls, incident response and management thereof.


• Establishing and maintaining relationships with risk owners in other areas.


• Maintaining strong relationships with other leadership roles, as well as with the leadership team, globally


• Staying abreast of legislative, regulatory and corporate governance developments that might affect operations.


• Other duties, as assigned based on the demands of the business and growth of the role.

Background & Experience:

• Experience relevant (>‎10 years) for leading a risk function in a regulated financial institution or in an international setting (e-money or payment services provider are a plus).


• Experience with enterprise risk management with emphasis on: Operational Risk, Fraud risk management, Business Continuity Management, Internal controls, IT risk, Cybersecurity risk, Internal controls, Quality controls, Fulfilment of regulatory requirement.


• Experience in leading a risk function, motivating team members, syndicating, and championing the importance of risk management as an enabler of sustainable business growth.


• Strong experience in tools and standards in identifying, assessment, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting of risks at the enterprise level.


• Have experience in conducting risk and control assessment, business impact analysis, root case analysis, defining KRI, assessing products, incident management and investigation, building anti-fraud scenarios, data analysis, and stress testing.


• Have experience in building and working with risk solutions.


• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to risk and exposure to having worked with regulatory organizations.


• Great communicator, quick thinker and confident in decision making.
