Assumes responsibility for the planning, organizing and facilitating of
Quality Management Plan and activities within Medical Records Services
Department
1. Facilitates developing of strategic quality initiatives, goals and
objectives within Medical records and in collaboration with other departments.
Tracks progress and prepare status reports for the Head of Medical Records.
2. Prepares reports that support management decision-making for improving of
health information and support improvement efforts.
3. Coordinates and supports hospital accreditation activities within Medical
Records Services.
4. Responsible for coordination Medical Records Services quality management
activities, including development of performance improvement indicators.
5. Consults, facilitates and participates in hospital-wide performance
improvement activities (e.g. Performance Improvement projects, best practice,
and benchmarking.
6. Networks with other areas to identify opportunities to improve joint
issues.
7. Participates in the education and training of Medical Records Services
staff in quality management/performance improvement concepts, principle, and
methodologies. Assist in the evaluation of performance improvement class
curriculum.
8. Participates on committees, task force and team as requested.
9. Maintains accurate department KPIs and Objectives and follow up with
concerned manager any unachieved targets.
10. Perform clinical responsibilities within related specialty such as
(Nursing, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, etc.) as assigned.
11. Coordinates the investigation and performance of root cause analysis of
actual and potential serious/sentinel events in medical records.
12. Facilitates conducting risk assessment activities for Medical Record
Services as per the risk management plan.
13. Participates in the development and revision of the department 's
policies and procedures.
Master 's or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Quality Management, Health
Informatics, Hospital Administration, or other related discipline is required.
Four (4) years of related experience with Master 's, or six (6) years with
Bachelor's Degree is required.
