Supervises dental hygiene care and provides clinical instructions for dental
hygiene trainees, students and dental hygiene staff, in addition to performing
Dental Hygiene (DH) duties.
1.Assists in supervising the standards of care for DH procedures provided by
the dental hygienists.
2.Performs all principal duties and responsibilities of a dental hygienist.
3.Assists in planning teaching schedules, arranging, and coordinating
instructions by dentists and other healthcare resource personnel. Assists in
arranging the use of facilities and equipment, and developing study
assignments by reviewing them after completion.
4.Contributes in teaching students and trainees by didactic and clinical
instruction. Assists in assigning students to clinical activities with
students and trainees, and appraises their performance. Maintains liaison with
appropriate schools, other institutions and Hospital personnel, to revise and
develop educational programs.
5.Evaluates performance of dental hygienists and clinicians according to set
criteria indicators.
6.Responsible for the education and training on the use and maintenance of
Dental Clinic (DC) equipment used by dental hygienists. Completes annual
competency check offs.
7.Develops, reviews, and maintains DH related policies, procedures, and
guidelines. Assists in reviewing DH standards and updating the Internal
Policies and Procedures (IPP's).
8.Establishes and changes schedules and assignments to meet changing
departmental conditions and priorities.
9.Participates in Hospital wide performance improvement activities.
10.Rotation to KFNCCC & KACO&LD dental clinic is mandatory, if needed.
11.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
12.Participates in self and other's education, training, and development, as
applicable.
13.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor 's Degree in Dental Hygiene is required.
