Associate

JOB PURPOSE/ SUMMARY

The Associate is responsible for supporting the Investments team in sourcing,
evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in line with APICORP's
investment strategy. In addition to supporting the team in the general
department administrative activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep abreast of the latest developments pertaining to APICORP's business environment (market, industrial and financial);


• Assist VP/ Director in identification of potential investment opportunities


• Review and screen the opportunities in line with investments guideline and maintaining appropriate databases


• Perform due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, financial modelling/ valuation, and risk assessment and coordinate with 3rd party advisors, as relevant


• Participate in transaction closings/ execution of new investments.


• Prepare investment memos and presentations on the investment opportunities; review junior analysts' work and provide necessary advice/ support for improving the quality of output


• Monitoring of existing portfolio companies, including value addition, conducting semi-annual reviews, and conflict resolution activities, as necessary.


• Participate in the execution of portfolio company exits.


• Assist in department's strategy, budgeting / planning activities and coordinate with colleagues in other departments for inter departmental activities, as needed.


• Prepare periodic reports for the department's presentation to the Board, other committees, and any other tasks, as assigned by the VP/ Director/Head of the Department.

  In addition to these behavioral competencies, the Associate/ Sr Associate

  well as the financial markets and investing in the MENA region.

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related field from a reputed university. Post graduate degree is an added advantage. A relevant professional qualification (CFA, CMA, CAIA, etc.) is strongly preferred.


• ‎3-‎5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, financial institutions, or energy companies [‎5-‎7 years of experience for Sr. Associate]


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Demonstrate appropriate sensitivity to a multicultural team and work environment.


• Strong interest and some relevant experience in the MENA region's energy/ financial sector
