Chief Sustainability Officer

Oterra is looking for a leader to drive the Oterra Sustainability agenda.
The Chief Sustainability Officer will develop, articulate, lead and execute
the Oterra Sustainability strategy in collaboration with Oterra 's leadership
team and other business stakeholders.

The CSO will work in close collaboration with operations, sourcing,
commercial and communications as well as other business stakeholders to
develop, operationalize and communicate Oterra 's Sustainability and ESG
ambition, strategy, and initiatives.

This CSO role is a newly created position charged with the responsibility of
taking our Sustainability to the next level both at strategic and execution
level. The Sustainability agenda is closely connected to our purpose of
bringing naturality to food. The role will report directly to the CEO.

What would your role look like, what will you do?
* Lead, architect and facilitate the creation and maintenance of the Oterra Sustainability agenda and strategy
* Craft and refine the Oterra Sustainability and broader ESG agenda with significant focus on sustainable ecological solutions for our natural colors but also social topics like social impact and equal employment opportunities
* Continuously monitor and assess opportunities and risks for Oterra in the ESG areas
* Monitor, advocate for, and innovate around new social and environmental legislation and regulations

  Build and execute portfolio-wide initiatives in key ESG topics to support the Sustainability strategy (i.e., climate change and GHG reduction, energy management, health & safety, inclusion & diversity, employee engagement) by strategizing and implementing timely initiatives

  
  
  
  
  • Work with the organization, cross functionally, to shape and execute the initiatives and manage the overall program
  
  
  • Work through the functional stakeholders to get the Sustainability/ESG program implemented
  
  
  • Contribute to new product development as it relates to low/no CO2 products and products based on sustainable/regenerative farming

  Create and disseminate external/internal communication and own Sustainability stakeholder management

  
  
  
  
  • Work in partnership with the communications team to communicate Oterra's Sustainability initiatives internally and externally
  
  
  • Serve as an ambassador for Oterra with government agencies, industry associations, investors, and media as it relates to Sustainability

  Lead the reporting and benchmarking of the Oterra Sustainability Agenda

  
  
  
  
  • Create ESG success metrics and use fact-based methods to evaluate and improve Oterra's Sustainability program
  
  
  • Develop a consistent and scalable approach to ESG data collection, validation, and reporting for stakeholders

  Play a key role in the integration of acquired companies to onboard them to the Oterra agenda

  
  

Who are we looking for?
You have a strong track record of positive and influential engagement with a
variety of business stakeholders and a strong grasp of sustainability
innovation and best practice.

You have thorough knowledge of the current Sustainability environment within
businesses with strong presence in or relations with manufacturing, transport,
and farming. You have senior management experience from a similar role.

We expect you to be a natural leader and be able to work at strategic level
with the leadership team as well as being able to manage projects directly and
work closely with the broader organization to bring the Sustainability agenda
to life.

To succeed in this position, you:
* Have ‎5-‎10 years of Sustainability relevant experience
* Have a demonstrated track record of strong project leadership skills
* Are a doer that enjoys rolling up your sleaves
* Are a natural communicator and team builder
* Have strong business acumen with business wide vision and entrepreneurial appetite
* Are pragmatic and execution oriented
* Have strong insights into sourcing, operations, farming
* Can work in a cross functional, international and multicultural environment
* Speak English, additional languages are a plus
