Job Description

Roles and responsibilities
* Providing technical support to teams within the organization, and to external clients when required.
* Assisting with systems integrations.
* Managing and handling the open tickets through ticketing system.
* Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures.
* Identifying and resolving technical issues.
* Managing coordination at a local and international level where required.
* Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organization's systems.
* Developing reports for teams across the business.
* Providing software application support.
* Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
* Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
* Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
* Establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating serious concerns to the Senior Engineer.
* Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
* Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
* Providing front-end support to clients and colleagues in other departments.
* Execution of DB scripts/extracts as needed.
* Work with multiple teams for successful resolution of issues and incidents.
* Providing on-call support.
* Open to flexible working conditions including after-hours scheduled application maintenance and support.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
* Bachelor 's degree in computer science or computer engineering or similar.
* ‎2-‎4 years of experience supporting enterprise-level business applications.
* Extensive experience in an application support role.
* Broad working knowledge of Oracle, SQL, MYSQL and RDBMS - including PL/SQL stored procedures, complex joins, database queries, functions, triggers, packages, and complex analytical and financial reports.
* Broad knowledge of Linux and Windows technologies. Good shell scripting experience is a must.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Elastic Search.
* Demonstrated experience of working on transactional, available, and scalable business critical systems.
* Good understanding of software architecture, understanding component and application breakdown and interaction.
* Commercial awareness, knowledge of or experience in working in the financial services industry is a plus.
* Excellent understanding of software systems and technology.
* Good understanding of software support team functions and a solid understanding of the end-to-end application development process.
