To successfully launch and operate flydubai's pilot training business -
registered with the GCAA as a licensed Airline Training Organization (ATO) as
a profit center, ensuring that all training courses which are provided at
flydubai both for flydubai pilots as well as for external customers are done
so to the highest levels of excellence and in full compliance with all
relevant regulations and frameworks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develops, launches and maintains a scalable and efficient profit based pilot training business.
* Recommends and implements medium to long-term customer attraction and retention strategies propelling flydubai to become the preferred ATO in the region.
* Develops training strategies that provides pilots with the highest levels of training with minimum impact/disruption to line operations.
* Manages the full profit and loss for the training business ensuring that set profit targets are met year on year with a focus on expansion.
* Maintains the approved training and validations as the postholder for training for the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and ATO operations as required by the GCAA ensuring the highest standards of safety.
* Ensures the certification of courses according to regulatory requirements (in collaboration with the COO, the SVP - Flight Operations and the SVP - Inflight Services) and maintains the confidentiality and provision of all training documentation, certification, and attendance records.
* Acts as a focal point to the GCAA for Cabin Crew training, standards, examinations, attestations, and compliance with GCAA regulations and other standards.
* Ensures that the training department has sufficient resources to meet the requirements of the airline budget.
* Oversees the provision of efficient and comprehensive training schedules in line with the company's growth ambitions and develops contingency plans to mitigate any changes to published plans, rosters.
* Oversees the annual requirement for training materials and equipment and implements mitigation strategies and workarounds if adequate training material and equipment is not available which may include the use of outside vendors.
* Manages training course content to ensure a centrally managed and tracked process/workflow is adhered to for all training material created and/or delivered within Flight Operations Training.
* Manages training curriculum team to ensure full regulatory compliance of all training curricula conducted by Flight Operations Training function in accordance with flydubai guidelines, rules and GCAA regulations in collaboration with other departments including Security, Safety and Quality Assurance.
* Monitors and evaluates non-moving training devices (Part Task Trainers) for use, functionality and cost effectiveness in collaboration with the Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs).
* Ensures all operations are conducted in accordance with conditions and restrictions of the AOC, and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards of flydubai.
* Sources and builds relationships with airlines (both private and government) to provide a long-term training program.
* Works with internal stakeholders (legal etc.) to review and approve contracts for training services.
* Manages and maintains a healthy working relationship with all vendor relationships in the relevant area and is involved in the negotiations of future vendors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Education Level Required
* Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent)
* MBA (preferred)
Experience Specific Requirements
* 10 years Flight Operations experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience as TRI (Training Instructor), CFI (Certified Training Instructor) or SFI (Synthetic Training Instructor) or equivalent.
* At least 5 years' experience operating an ATO
* At least 5 years' experience managing a business as a P&L.

ISR Requirements
Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently
reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the
