Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
The British Embassy Abu Dhabi has vacancies for six (6) Executive Officer Team
Leaders under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). This is for a fixed-term
contract of one (1) year.
The jobholder will be working collectively and responsibly to ensure the
smooth and efficient running of the workflow section which initiates
applications into the section, they will have line management supervision for
up to (12) twelve AO Admin Assistants ensuring they achieve their objectives,
this will be done by monitoring output and productivity for the workflow team.
The jobholder will be managing the operation carefully to ensure that
applications are processed within agreed service standards, deploying
resources effectively to ensure that targets are met, escalating potential
delays to senior managers.
The successful candidates must be flexible people, who work well in a busy
environment. It is extremely important that the jobholders are adaptable and
show a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks operating to challenging
targets.
Duties and responsibilities:*
* Monitoring the use of resources in line with organisational procedures and plans.
* Taking responsibility for a specific department 's performance regularly feeding back to the Regional Operation Managers and Regional Manager
* Regularly reviewing procedures, working with teams to identify improvements and simplify processes.
* Invest time to generate a common focus and genuine team spirit.
* Setting clear objectives so staff are clear about expected levels of performance and tackling poor performance.
* Carrying out regular face-to-face performance reviews giving honest, constructive feedback.
* Throughout the appraisal period, carry out line management responsibilities, develop staff, encouraging equal opportunities for all, give regular feedback and promoting a working environment in which staff is able to perform efficiently and effectively.
* Update HERA when appropriate.
* The ability to use own initiative and judgement in knowing how to deal with varying circumstances.
* The ability to use own knowledge of practices/procedures and guidelines to meet clearly defined objectives.
* The ability to make decisions and authorise the actions of team members within established guidelines.
Resources Managed
* Direct line management of up to (12) twelve AO Administrative Assistants.
The above list is not exhaustive, and the job holder will be required to
be flexible and take on other ad hoc tasks as required, including
participating in the Embassy emergency planning and any response to a
crisis.

Eligibility:
* Applicants must be able to obtain an appropriate level of UK Security Clearance and be able to obtain a valid UAE police clearance certificate.
* Applicants must be available in a full-time capacity to work on site at the British Embassy Abu Dhabi - these are not part time positions or available for remote working.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
* Evidence of working effectively against demanding targets
* Evidence of using your initiative for problem solving.
* Previous UKVI experience within the last 12 months.
* A strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English. Ability to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely.
* Good working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
* Previous line management experience.

Other benefits and conditions of employment
Working hours and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration
package for this role which includes 25 days of leave per annum (calculated
pro-rata).
Salary is at AED 14,520 per month.
There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No
accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this
position.
The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday, from 07:30 to 18:00. Normal weekly
working hours are thirty-five (35) hours per week, net of breaks.
The successful candidate will be required to transfer their visa under the
Embassy's sponsorship.
