Loss Adjuster
Background
We require a Loss Adjuster to complement our existing team in Kuwait, handling
a portfolio of commercial material damage claims. Duties will include the
investigation of insurance claims arising out of losses such as natural
perils, fires, accidents, and burglaries. You will determine the amount of
damage or loss covered by the insurance policy. You will make recommendations
regarding payment of benefits, based on the coverage noted on the insurance
policy and negotiate payment and settlement.
Opportunity
This is an entry-level position, and you will be responsible for all reports
regarding each visit and full diary maintenance. Additionally, you will be
required to manage a caseload effectively providing service delivery within
clients SLAs and meeting challenging audit criteria. Monthly settlement and
/or financial targets will also be set by your line manager. You will be
supported and trained in order to be able to work autonomously. Your line
manager will maintain regular contact with you to discuss service delivery and
to provide guidance and mentoring in relation to more complex and challenging
claims.
You will be expected to join the Chartered Insurance Institute or the
Chartered Institute for Loss Adjusters and to enter and to make progress with
their examinations leading towards professional qualifications.
Role and Responsibilities
* Collating and interpreting documentation.
* Translation of Arabic/English documents as required
* Investigate, negotiate and settle a variety of claims in an efficient manner and in compliance with a variety or requirements.
* Write the reports.
* Inspect and/or evaluate damages when required, estimate costs or commercial value, examine reports or other documents, evaluate losses, establish claims guidelines and quantifying settlement amounts.
* Interpreting policies and preparing claim adjustments and settlement recommendations. Researching technical and legal questions.
* Provide input into business development. Participating in marketing opportunities as required.
* Undertake relevant personal study (CII, CILA, etc), relevant company training and participate in continued professional development opportunities.
* To carry out other tasks as directed within the scope of the role.

You will have/will be:
* Self-motivated, conscientious and able to work under your own initiative as well as flexible during times of surge
* Have a professional engineering qualification and a willingness to study and achieve insurance qualifications such as ACII and ACILA and be committed to maintain professional education.
* Hold a full driving license and have a willingness to travel
* It would be a major advantage if you have bilingual Arabic/English capability
* It would be an advantage if you have experience of the Middle East or otherwise working in a multicultural environment
* The ability to recognise the need for efficient and effective processes and to follow these closely
* Have exceptional Customer Service ethics
* Have effective communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to write detailed reports
* Have a desire to embrace innovative working practices.
