About Us

StatsBomb was founded in January ‎2017 to provide data, analytics, and
consultancy to football teams, media, and gambling companies, and has grown
into a global multi-sports data and analytics SAAS provider.

StatsBomb are well known in the sports analytics industry for providing unique
insights into the game of football and have developed a strong brand
synonymous with highest quality and accuracy of data coupled with excellent
customer service and support.

We have grown from our initial founder team of ‎3 at the start of ‎2017 to over
‎700 employees based in Europe, the US and Egypt, and are continuing to expand
our operation as we build out our product portfolio and customer base.

Our core products are data and analytics tools, with a tech stack that
includes computer vision, machine learning, stream processing, and web-based
dataviz. We also have a growing consultancy service that allows customers to
have additional access to our expertise and insight. From our origins as a
blog pre ‎2017, StatsBomb have always had a strong foothold in the football
analytics community and education remains a constant feature of both our
products and our customer support ethos.

Job Requirements

• Lead data-driven projects from definition to execution, from defining metrics to communicating actionable insights.


• Conduct detailed data analysis on data across multiple data sources used across business units, to evaluate business processes and identify key insights


• Provide innovative analytical insights within the Data Products Team


• Support operations teams with building their required data products, reports and automating their day-to-day processes when possible


• Develop dashboards and general data visualization using Tableau


• Regular interactions with stakeholders to understand their challenges and recommend solutions from data


• Present conclusions to multiple stakeholders in a clear and concise manner


• Own the data side of a new product from A to Z with all its analysis and reporting infrastructure


• Requirements:


• ‎5+ years of experience


• Proven experience working with SQL and relational database knowledge, and NoSQL


• Practical knowledge of data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments/PIG,HIVE, Impala)


• Experience working within process management and improvement methodologies and demonstrating knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts and data quality tools


• Experience with the core AWS services is a plus


• Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java, (Python is a must)


• Proven experience working with data visualization tools, Tableau or Power BI


• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to fill in the gap between the business and technical sides, and act as a focal point across all phases of analytical projects, from business understanding to solution deployment


• Excellent knowledge and experience in advanced statistical techniques and data mining techniques and concepts: GLM/Regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, random forest, boosting, trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.


• Proficiency in English
