JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the
Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment,
support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi
Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel
safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and
weapons.

The ILOC Manager is responsible for the timely delivery of a range of
engineering and support tasks allocated to him by the Technical Services
Manager and/or Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) Commander, to meet the needs of
the Typhoon operation. The role is based at King Fahad Air Base (KFdAB) Tait
within the Typhoon Support Centre.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Act as Point of Contact (PoC) for all Salam Support Solution engineering, operations and logistical support issues.
* Act as PoC for the TSC Commander and Technical Services Manager as required.
* Provide the primary interface into RSAF HQ with respect to all strategic decisions, including Capability Insertion.
* Manage, develop and coach the ILOC team, to ensure a single body capable of delivering value to maintenance and operations.
* Manage team performance and direct improvements to increase effectiveness.
* Ensure the ILOC daily brief is accurately compiled, in order to brief senior management on the status of performance, fleet and enablers.
* Initiate discussions between maintenance operations and the ILOC if the achievement of the flying programme is at risk, discussing and proposing alternative solutions as required.
* Direct and monitor dynamic resolution of problems, thereby freeing up maintenance to focus on aircraft serviceability.
* Direct and monitor tracking of relevant Technical Instructions and Technical Requests that have an impact on critical resources or assets.
* Manage the development of all staff, by coaching, consolidation and work experience as appropriate.
* Directing the Logistic Control Senior Specialist, to ensure monitoring and progression of AOG issues.
* Directing the Logistic Control Senior Specialist, to ensure the Typhoon Aircraft State Sheet (TASS) is current and updated.
* Directing the Logistic Control Senior Specialist, to ensure Aircraft cannibalisation is appropriately managed.
* Holding and leading task planning and prioritisation meetings, including Operational Readiness Reviews with Typhoon stakeholders.
* Provision of impact statements in the event of priority conflicts.
* Highlight issues relating to timely delivery of tasks against the requirements of the Regulatory Framework for Logistics.
* Recording, tracking and reporting progress of tasks being managed to ensure schedules are achieved predictably and consistently.
* Day to day liaison with the Typhoon stakeholder community to ensure allocated tasks are correctly prioritised against established and emergent requirements.
* Provide support to TSC Fleet, Forward and Depth Maintenance and SMU Management, to ensure Fleet capability and availability.
* Manage and direct the ILOC Team to develop and maintain RSAF Policies and Procedures relevant to the ILOC Roles and Responsibilities.
* Supporting Continuous Improvement objectives by reviewing processes, procedures, systems, environment, business interfaces and ways of working, as well as performance.
* Directing the Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, to ensure Capability Insertion Reviews are held in a timely manner and are fit for purpose, confirming the identified Stakeholders and ensuring communication throughout.
* Directing the Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, to ensure Continuous Improvement (Cl) is driven and encouraged throughout and that Cl Events are periodically held and appropriately attended.
* Directing the Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, to ensure the Instructional Specifications are current and authorised. Ensuring that they maintain the Typhoon Engineer Authorisations Matrix (TEAM) and associated Instructional Specifications (IS).
* Manage, encourage and champion Change Management and act as an effective Change Agent.
* Directing the Teamcenter Small Task Management Specialists, to ensure assistance to Managers and Team Leaders when planning tasks managed through the Teamcenter application.
* Directing the Teamcenter Small Task Management Specialists, to ensure effective tracking of all Teamcenter communication, including Defect Investigations, Problem Investigations and Technical Requests.
* Manage the TTP 131 Control Specialist, to ensure monitoring and tracking of critical age and role equipment, availability, location and serviceability. Maintain a view of current and future, depth capabilities in order to best advise the customer.
* Manage the TTP 131 Control Specialist, to ensure critical assets are correctly prioritised and actions from the TTP 131 review have been assigned, tracked and have been considered with the view to resolve.
* Managing and maintaining all of the ILOC daily, scheduled and ad-hoc administrative, maintenance and Operational requirements.
* Managing the TSC Action Tracker to ensure all actions are completed timeously. Define and liaise with the ILOC Team with respect to their Roles and Responsibilities.
* Undertaking any additional, reasonable, tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF management.
* Undertake activities under RSAF Letter of Delegation as required.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
* Educated to Degree level or with equivalent experience or have experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training with significant experience of a design and support engineering organisation within an aircraft related industry, or have completed a recognised aircraft engineering or logistics apprenticeship in industry/military or have a similar qualification in aircraft systems engineering or logistics.
* Experience of aircraft operations, logistics, maintenance and support.
* Demonstrable ability to plan and deliver tasks to demanding deadlines.
* Problem solving abilities, set and manage work direction in a rapidly changing environment.
* Skills to track and report on a large number of diverse activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process with stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience of a computerised work recording and asset management system such as Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS) and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Demonstrable experience of Team Leadership and Management.
Desirable
* Experience of Typhoon or other fast jet platform.
* Experience in an aircraft military support/maintenance environment at Supervisory level. Familiarity with the Teamcenter application as a user.
* Familiarity with Tier 1 support of an IT system such as Teamcenter. Previous experience in an engineering logistics operations environment.
