(CSP) is designed in a way to fully support Egypt's vision ‎2030 and ensure
food and nutrition security for all Egyptians, as enshrined in both the
Constitution and the country's commitment to the Global Sustainable
Development Agenda.


ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT


As part of WFP Egypt CSP for ‎2023-‎2028, WFP is implementing it 's humanitarian
response to refugees as well as resilience-building activities for refugees
and host community members. Through its "One Refugee Policy" WFP targets
vulnerable refugees irrespective of nationality with cash-based transfers to
ensure they can meet their essential food needs throughout the year. WFP's
approach to food security is two-pronged; it first ensures access to basic
food needs for vulnerable populations through immediate support, and secondly,
it addresses long-term resilience building for future self-reliance.
The CSP focuses on five interrelated thematic areas:
* Support and complement the Government's social protection programs
* Support the refugees and migrants through food assistance and resilience building
* Improve the nutritional status of Egyptians with a focus on Pregnant and Lactating Women and infants under two years of age;
* Support resilience of vulnerable smallholder farmers and Bedouin communities in Upper Egypt and frontier Governorates; and
* Provide capacity strengthening to the Government and support South-South cooperation between Egypt and neighbouring countries.


JOB PURPOSE


To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet
food assistance needs.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)



  • Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.

  • Establish transparent relationships with all partners including identification of their priorities, concerns and managing expectations in regard to livelihoods interventions.

  • To assist the project manager in the identification of new projects and new areas of intervention.

  • Coordinate trainings for women and youth empowerment, including trainings on food processing and micro-credit activities as part of the livelihood activities.

  • Ensure that linkages are made between the small and medium enterprise (SME) development and market linkage programs and the refugees.

  • Capture and analyze learning, innovation and best practice of current and past operations in urban settings with a specific focus on tools and useful approaches to support Livelihoods activities

  • Harmonize reporting, evaluation, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure efficient coordination among actors in all livelihood activities targeting refugees and host communities

  • Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.

  • Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities.


STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education: Advanced University degree (Master's Degree) in International
Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science,
Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development
assistance,
or First University Degree with additional years (‎3 years) of related work
experience and/or trainings/courses.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Arabic languages Oral and writing
At least ‎3 years of professional experience in implementing Livelihoods and
emergency programme programs
* Experience in urban development and resilience building
* Experience in the implementation of programmes and in the provision of inputs into designing operations.
* Experience in provision of input into policy discussions and decisions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Fixed-term Appointment : an appointment for a continuous period of one
year and shall have a specified expiration date and be subject to a
probationary period of one year, which may be extended to ‎18 months.
Annual Net Pay Salary : as per the established salary scale with then the
country
Staff Assessment A staff assessment, comparable to national income tax,
shall be applied to the gross salaries and such other payments as are computed
on the basis of salary, The assessment shall be calculated at rates set forth
in the FAO Administrative Manual.
Dependency allowances : applicable to children up to ‎18 years of age, or
up to ‎21 years in full-time school attendance
United Nations Joint pension fund a deduction of ‎7.9% from the pensionable
remuneration will be made from the net salary, the WFP will contribute of
‎15.8%
Medical Insurance : mandatory for the staff member and can be extended to
dependents in a cost-sharing
Annual leave : ‎2.5 days a month and Sick leave : ‎2 days per month
Official Holiday : ‎10 days as officially established for each duty station
