Role Summary/Purpose
The Quality Control Chemist shall be part of the Supply Chain Quality Control
team responsible for ensuring products and services meets SWTS Quality
Standards. He/se shall be managing the QC lab activities, conducting chemical
tests, interacting with cross-functional team to resolve production issues and
supporting the QMS and EHS Management Systems.
Essential Responsibilities
* Generating reports, organizing reviews and performing chemical analysis to evaluate the quality of expired inventory and SM/NM goods.
* Supporting customer complaint resolution and root-cause analysis, production incident investigations and rework activities by providing technical and analytical support.
* Preparing lab batches requested by customers and product quality team.
* Organizing the sample storage and ensuring timely delivery of samples for the sample-supply process in MENA, in consultation with and coordination with other plants & suppliers.
* Releasing incoming raw materials from quality lots.
* Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments following internal and external calibration plan.
* Conducting basic maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instruments.
* Completing New Product Introduction (NPI) through Management of Change (MOC) process.
* Maintaining and updating batch information in SAP as needed and ensuring no missing QC data.
* Assisting diverse tasks related to QEHS or in planning and execution of new projects.
* Conducting routine water analysis of the utility water (Raw Water, RO, Demin Water Tank, Chiller and Boiler) as scheduled.
* Support document control process and the implementation of the QMS system
* Providing support to maintain plant certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, NSF)
* Participating in Quality Dashboard - KPI meetings.
* Ensuring proper housekeeping (5S) in the area of responsibility and conducting assigned inspection rounds.
* Participating in incident and concern reporting, risk analysis and implementation of the EHS system.

* Sound knowledge in Chemistry.

* Good communication skills. Must be able to interact with a cross-functional team including senior leadership.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-projects and tasks.
* Demonstrated ability to breakdown complex / large problems into smaller steps and develop solutions using objective criteria.
* Fluent in writing and speaking the English Language
* Flexible and able to work beyond normal working hours to perform production batch adjustment and troubleshoot quality issues.
* Proactive personality with positive attitude.
* Must have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot.
Qualifications/Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical
Engineering
* 2-3 years' experience in a QC Lab (preferably in a Chemical or Petrochemical Plant) is an advantage
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work with site management team and with all levels of management.
* Computer knowledge and ability to learn new systems.
* SAP experience is a plus.
* Communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbal, and written.
* Passion for work, team player and can work in a multi-cultural environment.
