ENBD Group Finance
1. Organisation Unit Purpose
To provide Finance support to the Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB)
businesses of the Group covering Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking, and
Investment Banking subsidiaries - EMCAP, ENBD Securities across UAE & other
Emirates NBD's presence countries.
2. Job Purpose
The job holder is part of the C&IB Business Finance team responsible for
providing insightful Finance support to the Segment/ Product Heads in C&IB
business in key tactical and strategic decision making. The job holder will
support the Segments/ Products business teams to provide analytics and support
decision making and ensuring that Group financial policies and control
framework are consistently applied across the segments/ products in C&IB
Banking business units.
Job Descirptions
1. Timely, accurate and insightful management information to the Segment/
Product teams at various levels across the C&IB Banking organization.
* Utility of MI to stakeholders within the Segment teams
* Work closely with key stakeholders within the Segment/ Product teams to ensure that management information produced remains relevant and aids decision making.
2. Robust and dynamic strategic and financial planning process within the
Segment/ Product teams.
* Robust medium term strategy for the Segments/ Products
* Accurate and meaningful forecasts capable of quarterly updation
* Work closely with the Head of Finance and Segment/ Product heads in developing a robust and ambitious medium term strategy covering all key opportunities and risks.
* Establish a planning framework which links to the medium term strategy and enables modeling of key drivers of revenues and costs thereby facilitating accurate multi-year rolling forecasts.
* Establish and sustain alignment between Product and Segment revenues
3. Finance & Accounting support with smooth process of launching of new
products/ processes
* Finance discipline with control over accounting policies and GL set up processes
* Support Business with Finance policies on setting up of a new product / process.
* Liaise with Group FIN team for infrastructure set up.
4. Financial discipline within the Segments/ Products in investment spend and
post implementation reviews
* Business cases for all material investment spend.
* PIR process to evaluate effectiveness of investment spend
* Establish and maintain a robust challenge process for business cases submitted by the Segment/ Product teams while at the same time ensuring efficient response times.
* Establish and maintain a robust post implementation review process for all material investments spends within the Segments/ Product teams
5. Robust cost management framework within the Segments/ Products
* Understanding of costs and cost dynamics at all levels across the various Segments/ Products
* Establish a framework for providing a clear and transparent analysis of costs across various levels within the Segment/ Product
* Establish a process for business unit heads to fully understand and challenge costs - both internally and externally.
Qualifications
Job Specifications
* A qualified accountant or an MBA with specialization in Finance
* Between 7-12 years of post- qualification experience in the Finance function of a large bank with exposure to business finance/ stakeholder management
* Exposure to C&IB Banking especially Transaction Banking-Trade & Cash
* A thorough understanding of finance concepts, business performance management and planning. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interact at senior management levels.
