Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period

residency visa to fill the position. For non-UAE national, the Mission assists
in obtaining the required residency visa to lawfully work in the UAE. Ref. to

Vacancy Q#1, and attach a copy of residency visa.
Basic Function of the Position:
The incumbent will review a broad range of Farsi and English language
materials, including internet and other media, to prepare reporting and
analysis on Iran's economy. The Economic Assistant will provide direct support
to reporting officers in the Iran Regional Presence Office (IRPO) by
undertaking research and data collection, drafting of cables and other written
products, and identifying key developments as well as possible U.S. responses.
Supports or acts for other locally employed staff within the section as
required.
Requirements:
EITHER OPTION 1 OR OPTION 2 TO QUALIFY:
Option 1**
EXPERIENCE: 3 years of professional experience in analysis and reporting
related to Iran, Iranian issues, political science, journalism, Middle East
studies, and/or economics is required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree is required
Option 2
EXPERIENCE: 5 years of professional experience in analysis and reporting
related to Iran, Iranian issues, political science, journalism, Middle East
studies, and/or economics is required.
EDUCATION: College/ University studies (2 years) or Post-Secondary School (2
years) in any field is required.
