Primary ELL Teacher - January 2024

The Role

We are looking for an outstanding Primary ELL teacher to join GEMS Wellington
Academy, Al Khail from January ‎2024.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To play a key role in ensuring that GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail offers,
maintains and develops an inclusive approach and experience for all students.
Specialist focus is teaching English Language Development across the Primary
phase of GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail to improve proficiency and outcomes
in students ' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
* Coordinate the use of language proficiency and diagnostic testing, CAT4 and other relevant data to identify students needing support
* Develop programmes and materials to ensure ELL students and those with a verbal deficit are supported effectively to make rapid progress
* Oversee the use of language acquisition support plans (ELL plans) for all identified students and work with teachers to implement these plans successfully including the use of curriculum adaptations and personalised pathways
* Support staff with developing and establishing classroom strategies designed to support the inclusion, access and progress of EAL/ELL students
* Use relevant data to analysis student progress and inform targets for further development and improvement
* Enhance and expand the use of the programmes such as Lexia as a whole school strategy for EAL/ELL students, demonstrating rapid progress rates for students
* Support in the delivery of professional development opportunities around ELL for teachers, LSA, LA, parents and evaluate its impact
* Establish and maintain positive communication with parents, engaging them in their child's learning
* Attend parent meetings where appropriate
* Be an active member of the Inclusion Team.
* Keep up to date with relevant research and theories in order to ensure that innovative approaches are developed to insure Inclusive practice
