Be part of our team as a Maintenance Manager (Airport BHS) in Dubai, UAE.
You will supervise, plan, control, and coordinate all maintenance-related
activities within the Baggage Handling System (BHS). The role ensures the
quality of work delivered with the proper functioning of BHS equipment/assets
to support daily operations efficiently. Close collaboration with the internal
department to achieve required goals. Maintaining the department budget within
the limits realizing savings on the overall costs and meeting the respective
contractual service level agreements, and other responsibilities are -
Maintenance Planning:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans, considering preventive,
predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies. Coordinate with operations
teams to schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to regular
operations.
BHS Equipment Maintenance:
Manage the maintenance and repair of BHS equipment & assets. Devise processes
to conduct regular inspections, identify potential issues, and address them
proactively to prevent breakdowns.
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for required repairs
and upgrades.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of technical controllers, supervisors, and technicians.
Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure maintenance work is performed
efficiently and effectively. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training
and development opportunities, and maintain a positive work environment.
Maintenance Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders,
equipment history, inventory, and maintenance logs. Utilize CMMS or other
software to track and monitor maintenance activities, generate reports, and
analyze data for continuous improvement.
Maintenance Analysis:
Devise and implement strategies for data analysis, preventive & predictive
maintenance strategies, asset aging and preventive measures, obsolescence
management, spare part life cycle estimations, maintenance planning strategies
to optimize and extend the life of assets and components, etc.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, increase equipment
reliability, and optimize maintenance strategies. Stay updated with
technological advancements, industry best practices, and emerging trends in
maintenance management. Implement improvements to increase operational
efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the maintenance department's budget, ensuring cost-
effective use of resources. Source and procure necessary equipment, tools, and
supplies for maintenance activities. Monitor expenses, analyze trends, and
identify opportunities for cost savings.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards,
and safety protocols. Promote a safety culture within the maintenance
department and enforce adherence to safety procedures. Conduct risk
assessments and implement appropriate measures to mitigate potential hazards.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 10 years in Baggage Handling System (BHS).
* Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar role (BHS Systems).
* Strong technical knowledge of BHS equipment and process automation systems.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.
* Solid understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling techniques.
* Strong experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software and computer soft skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose equipment issues and develop effective solutions.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
* Hands-on experience in budgeting and cost management.
