Position Description
Job Title: HR Manager - UAE
Reporting Into: Director of HR MEA
Direct Reports: UAE HR & Admin Team
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Objective:
The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the
Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff,
administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and
practices. This is a regional role supporting UAE operations so mobilization
of personnel between countries is important.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with the Regional Leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention.
* Prepare UAE manpower plans/forecasts and annual budgets as required.
* Manage the accuracy and timely completion of regional workforce planning activities.
* Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants.
* Partner with 3rd party manpower suppliers, locally and in overseas locations to provide manpower and visa support.
* Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
* Play an integral part in the organization's annual insurance reviews.
* Management of the HR & Payroll system.
* Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
* Coordinate timely submission of UAE performance appraisals and ongoing performance management.
* Ensure compliance with local employment laws, and local and companywide human resource policies and procedures and provides leadership in UAE HR problem resolutions.
* Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
* Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Work with the PRO on all government-related issues in the UAE on behalf of the company - visa applications, trade license renewal etc.
* Ensure all projects in the UAE are delivered within the personnel budget.
* Performs other HR duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Personal
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
Technical
* Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
* Willingness to visit our projects and spend time with the operational crews to build relationships.
Education and Experience:
* Minimum of ‎5 years of HR Generalist experience out of which ‎1-‎2 years as an HR Manager or leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Hands-on approach to resolving issues and operations support.
* Minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
* Previous experience in the events, construction industry, or related field.
* Experience in hiring/dealing with overseas labor is required.
* Experience in mobilization/demobilization of employees to countries so solid visa experience is highly desirable.
