Job Description
Job Scope:*
Handles all medical Neonatology cases in the department, and Inpatient's wards
according to policies and procedures of the Department.
Job Responsibilities:
* Attends all "at risk" deliveries.
* Examination of all the newborn babies on daily basis and visits their mothers.
* Manages sick newborn and NICU babies as appropriate.
* Informs and works closely with the specialist/consultant in serious cases, NICU admissions, congenital anomalies, or cases requires referral to other physicians or other hospitals.
* Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Pediatric Department Policy and Guidelines.
* Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her care within the resources provided by the program.
* Arranges the patient transfer procedure including contacting the other hospital, stabilizing the patient and completing the referral notes and escorting the patient if required.
* Resides in the hospital site while on call and will make sure the pager/telephone is in good working order.
Job Requirements:
* Education and Experience
* MBBS and Master Degree in Pediatrics / Neonatology
* Minimum 1 year of experience after Master's degree in relevant specialty
Job-Specific/Technical Skills
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
* Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
* Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital.
* Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients' culture and beliefs).
* AHA certified Basic Life support provider
* PALS Pediatric Advance Life support
