Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, manage and co-ordinate all activities related to payroll of staff.
* Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements.
* Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
* Manage the preparation of payroll related documents.
* Administer benefit plans.
* Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements.
* Compile data from relevant sources for payroll.
* Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
* Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations.
* Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate account balances.
* Review and suggest improvements of payroll policies and procedures if required based on best practices & current industry standards.
* Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
* Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.
* Interpret new legislation impacting payroll.
* Manage & improve workflow processes to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, deductions, taxes and third party payments).
* Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, increments) and system upgrades.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
* Supervise and coach team members.
* Liaise with auditors and manage payroll audits.
* Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
