About the Role
The basic purpose of the EAL teacher is to ensure that all international
students are able to access the curriculum of the subjects they are studying.
* Facilite EAL student's access to the curriculum, adhering to school policies and curricular documents.
* ensure that students are given the best opportunity to reach their potential in all curriculum areas by reducing the barrier of language, and to support students in curriculum subjects where the lack of English is impeding progress.
* share knowledge about students' abilities and needs in English and to encourage teaching staff to use this knowledge effectively in planning, teaching and student grouping.
* To have detailed knowledge of not only the developmental characteristics and learning needs of the students, but also their personalities and who they are as people. Empathy and skills in meeting the wide variety of individual learning and needs of students with their differing linguistic, cultural, and educational circumstances.
