Purpose of the job

The EPC Construction Coordination Manager drives the strategy of execution of
the Construction as defined based on a best for project basis and reviewed
regularly between Project Controls and Construction teams of the Partners to
ensure efficiency.

• He leads, coordinates, and consolidates the Construction Coordination-related activities within the Cairo Monorail Consortium.


• He ensures that the Construction Coordination-related Contract requirements and obligations are met by the Cairo Monorail Consortium in a coherent and satisfactory manner.


• He supports the Cairo Monorail Consortium Core Team in all matters related to Construction Coordination

Responsibilities

In compliance with the terms of the Contract and the Cairo Monorail Consortium
strategy, the EPC Construction Coordination Manager oversees the alignment of
all the actors of the Consortium on the strategy of execution of the
Construction. He is making sure the Parties Construction coordinate to:
* Organize and plan construction activities in accordance with Program Manager and Partners Construction Managers.
* Timely execute the strategy of Construction.
* Optimize the Construction sequence.
* Make sure the handovers between the Parties are timely taking place.
* Organize the phasing plans and co-activity between the different Construction Groups with a specific work permit system.
* Resolve internal interfaces conflicts between Construction Groups, in liaison with the Construction Managers and the Client/Client's Representative.
* Coordinate partial acceptances
* Ensure proper application of safety laws and regulations into the daily work routine, in close co-operation with the HSE Manager.

Internally:
* Act as an expert advisor to the Consortium Project Director, the Cairo Monorail Consortium Core Team and the Cairo Monorail Consortium Steering Committee for all matters related to Construction Coordination activities.
* Coordinate with the EPC and the partners' Construction Coordination organizations on a permanent basis, so that the most effective and timely support is given to the entire Cairo Monorail Consortium.
* On the basis of the Contract requirements, draft and maintain/update the management plans, processes, procedures, methods, and any other elements necessary for a proper execution of the Construction Coordination activities, throughout the entire duration of the Contract.
* On the basis of the Contract requirements, select the most appropriate tools and define the related parameters and any other elements necessary for a proper execution of the Construction Coordination activities, throughout the entire duration of the Contract.
* Ensure that the above are properly implemented by the Cairo Monorail Consortium partners for their respective scopes.
* Organize, where appropriate, the training of the Cairo Monorail Consortium teams about the management plans, processes, procedures, methods and tools related to Construction Coordination activities.
* Coordinate the Construction Coordination deliverables production by the Cairo Monorail Consortium partners; review those deliverables to ensure consistency and compliance; consolidate those deliverables before review and submission, whenever applicable.
* Draft and maintain/update the schedules related to the Construction Coordination activities, with a particular focus on interfaces between Construction Coordination activities and the other Project activities.
* Coordinate Partners Construction Coordination schedules, with a particular focus on the sequences/durations of the Construction Coordination activities and interfaces between Construction Coordination activities and the other consortium activities.
* Analyze progress of Construction Coordination activities and propose recovery plan in case of delay.
* Coordinate the Quality management related to the Construction Coordination activities.
* Ensure continuous improvement of the Construction Coordination activities.
* Coordinate the risk/opportunities management related to the Construction Coordination activities.
* Consolidate the Construction Coordination reporting.
* Coordinate the Change management and consolidate the impacts assessment related to the Construction Coordination activities.
* Implement the Cairo Monorail Consortium policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.

Externally:
* Interact with the other Construction Coordination organizations involved in the Project:
* Client.
* Client's Representative, ISA, and other Client consultants.
* Other Project contractors.
* Project interfacing entities, stakeholders, and 3rd parties
* Represent Cairo Monorail Consortium in all meetings related to Construction Coordination activities.

Required skills

Strong leadership, charism, managerial and technical skills. Diplomacy.
Should be at the level of a Construction Director with both Civil and MEP
knowledge with a solution oriented and delivery spirit

Required experience

The EPC Construction Coordination Manager shall have extensive construction
management experience in Mass Transit systems both in Civil Works and in E&M
with at least ‎10 years' experience in Construction Management. He should be
delivery oriented with a solution mindset.
