Project Description:
The WESE program is designed to engage, leverage, and partner with the private
sector as well as public social service initiatives to encourage women 's
participation in the workforce; generate demand for financial services;
promote tailored, market-based solutions to women's economic empowerment; and
strengthen GBV prevention and response such that women become more
economically and socially resilient.
WESE activities integrate, mutually reinforcing private and public sector-led
approaches that aim to change power relationships, transform structures, and
build agency to effect results along critical change pathways. The program
interventions are designed to lead women in priority governorates feeling
safe, valued, and empowered at work; motivated and able to embrace financial
autonomy; and respected and free from violence in their homes, communities,
and workplaces.
The program works closely with market-based partners to develop, lead, scale,
sustain, and champion innovative solutions, recognizing the economic AND
social benefits of gender-inclusive, empowering policies and practices.
Job Summary:
* The Private Sector Advisor will work in close collaboration with the Team Lead to provide strategic inputs into the design and implementation of private sector tailored capacity building, service delivery and demand generation activities to enhance the working environment for women and utilization of integrated solutions for private sector firms to implement the program activities.
* The PSA will be responsible for ensuring that the project provides effective engagement and fostering a mutually beneficial partnership that will deliver the required result with the private sector partners.
* S/he will have oversight of all market analyses and oversee partner implementation of promotional and branding strategies that the private sector development. And will be responsible for coordinating private-public partnerships that address the long-term sustainability issues.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
* Provide private sector tailored input on the strategic direction of project activities.
* Contribute to the development of strategic plans, workplans, and priorities that support the program objectives.
* Supports the adaption and use of up-to-date technical approaches, including application of national guidelines, standards of practice and tools, as well as Pathfinder International Quality Standards by private sector partners.
* Conduct regular site visits to review program implementation and meet with beneficiaries. Based on the information collected during field visits, communicate findings and recommendations to the project team and, as appropriate, implementing partners.
* Further strengthen initiatives with private health sector partners, including Ready Made Garments, Agribusiness, and ICT, to identify women with a higher standard of working environment.
* Review performance reports to ensure that partner(s) are in compliance with the performance expectations outlined in their work plan and in their agreement(s).
* Ensure that implementing partners are in compliance with all relevant USAID regulations and procedures and communicate with them regarding the organization's rules and regulations.
* Provide technical input on annual work plans and annual reports.
* Coordinate lessons learned dissemination with private sector partners.
* Identify potential alliance partners and develop relationships with private businesses, corporations, foundations, NGOs, and other non-traditional development organizations.
* Provide technical and program assistance for private sector activities.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Studies or related field.
* Minimum of ‎5 years relevant experience in private sector partnerships and project management.
* Demonstrated experience successfully fulfilling performance objectives, including the timely implementation, and reporting of donor-funded program activities.
* Demonstrated time management skills and ability to effectively meet the demands of short deadlines, multiple tasks, and coordination with multiple partners.
* Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
* Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior government personnel, international organizations, NGO partners, governments, and U.S. Government Agencies and private sector partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Skill in both verbal and written communication.
* Skill in composing, editing, and proofreading written materials.
* Skill in organizing and coordinating.
* Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail, and quality.
* Ability to travel to WESE defined governorates as needed.
* Ability to define and solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
* Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications (written and verbal) skills.
* Well-organized, with attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in teams.
Effort, Reporting and Other Administrative Requirements:
The Private Sector Advisor is a full-time position that reports to the Private
Sector Engagement Team Lead who will coordinate with the Private Sector
Advisor on all programmatic aspects of his/her employment, including but not
limited to job description, duties, qualifications, working environment, and
performance.
The Private Sector Advisor will be based in Cairo, Egypt.
Working environment:
This position will interact with the WESE technical team and local NGOs and
Grantees, Private Sector owners and teams. He / She may travel to various
locations within Egypt, specifically WESE defined governorates.
