JOB TITLE: Accounting Manager, Middle East & North Africa

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This role will assume full responsibility for Gilbarco 's accounting in the
Middle East and North Africa. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant
policies, laws and regulations. _
_This role is a key managerial position in the MEA finance team and providing
support, mentoring, and coaching to others is an important part of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Overall Oversight of Accounting, Controllership and Compliance
* Overall ownership of our entities in the region
Accounting and Tax
* Manage the accounting and tax functions
* Manage external accounting relationships
* Develop, monitor and revise policies regarding compliance to Taxation legislation
* Manage financial reporting and preparation for year-end consolidated accounts
* Handle personally or approve general ledger reconciliations monthly
* Manage group balance sheet reviews, and internal audits
* Complete payroll taxes on an ad hoc basis
Reporting
* Collate and analyse monthly results and report to management and Group with high degree of accuracy within agreed monthly deadlines
Year - end reporting
* Management of the year end and audit process
* Detailed examination of all financial records, prior to financial year end and report thereon
* Finalisation of statutory financial statements
Insurance
* Manage the company 's insurance portfolio and annual insurance declarations
* Liaise with insurance brokers regarding claims and insurance matters
Tax
* Ensuring full compliance will all relevant tax regulation
* Actively bring forward ideas and strategies to improve compliance
Treasury
* Implement strategies to maximize positive Cash Inflows as relates to Rand and Foreign Bank Accounts
* Management of the treasury function including relationship with primary bankers
* Management of the company 's reserve bank applications
* Ad Hoc assignments such as due diligence evaluations and post investments audits
Staff Management
* Manage the output of 1-2 staff members within the team
* Liaise between teams to facilitate smooth interaction and problem solving
* Provide development and guidance to help staff reach their potential
* Regularly review and manage staff performance, recognising high performance and ensuring poor performance is corrected
* Ensure staff achieve all key deadlines
* Ensure staff adhere to company policy and procedures

* High accuracy in processing journal entries, reflected in the accuracy and completeness of the income statement and balance sheet
* Month-end and Year-end reporting completed accurately and on-time
* Dealing effectively and efficiently with internal / external queries
* Maintaining good relationships with external auditors, tax consultants and revenue authorities to ensure timely deliverable of goals
* Meeting objectives per the daily management dashboard for Controllers, Tax and Treasury
Lagging
* Meeting objectives per the Global controllership scorecard
* Clean balance sheet accounts achieved through effective balance sheet reconciliations and processes in place for resolution
* Minimal tax audits due to quality of tax return submissions
* Minimal business queries due to tax return and financial statement non-compliance
* High customer satisfaction from Global Controllership team due to SLAs being met and reporting being accurate and complete
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education/achievements __
* Registered Chartered Accountant, or equivalent
* Bachelor 's Degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (p referred )
Experience/Knowledge
* Previous experience using an ERP systems
* Previous experience leading a team
* Previous broad finance experience (p referred )

* Strong English language (written and oral)
