About This Job:
Astellas is currently looking to hire a General Manager – Egypt to be based in
Cairo, EGY. The role will be reporting directly into the Area Lead, MEA and
will be a member Astellas MEA Management Team.

Purpose of the Position:
Lead the newly established Egypt organization to deliver on it's strategic
goals (qualitative and quantitative), lead the cross-functional team of ‎50+
employees towards delivering on unified goals.
Align with MEA and International Markets (IM) on the key projects and
priorities.
Shift the focus towards Oncology specialty business whilst maintaining the
highly profitable Urology business
Lead on Area-level projects, as identified.
Responsible for leading the cross-functional team
Accountable for Compliance within the Affiliate, embedding an Ethics and
Compliance culture and Integrity in Action, by proactively addressing non-
compliance across all areas.
Develop and action a key stakeholder map (internal and external) and leverage
external networks to identify innovative opportunities and partnerships to
achieve future business growth.
Manage long-term strategic partnerships, developing sustainable and
synergistic external relationships with key players/external experts, acting
as ambassador for the Astellas brand, its reputation, products and product
value.
Responsible for the Affiliate P&L; deliverables, controlling debtors, working
capital and cost/expenditure to agreed guidelines, policies, procedures and
financial standards, presenting qualitative and quantitative reports on a
monthly basis on progress against budget, variances, current and expected
trends.
Responsible for the culture of the organization in tandem work with all the
functional leads

Essential Knowledge & Experience:
Significant Pharma sector experience in a country or Affiliate senior
management position including budget & forecast preparation/delivery, working
and improving a cross-functional, matrix organisation.
Should have prior experience of working within the speciality oncology therapy
area
Track record of leading and growing multi-discipline, diverse, high-potential
teams working across borders, developing individual, team and organisational
capability, nurturing talent and undertaking succession planning to ensure
long-term sustainability of business performance.
Successful legacy of co-creating and implementing policy, product and
operational strategic direction, to sustainably grow an Affiliate business and
performance, working in partnership with other business areas.
Sound evidence of defining, setting and delivering commercial KPIs to achieve
stretch business objectives and to sustainably grow the brand.
Knowledge of HEOR.
Medical-related degree and MBA (or similar commercial graduate degree)
preferable.
