The British Embassy* in Cairo is looking to recruit a Residence
Housekeeper , job grade S2, to start as soon as possible.
Main purpose of job:
The successful candidate will need to maintain the cleanliness of different
areas in the residence as well as the guest rooms. You will also prepare guest
rooms for expected visitors and providing turndown service to the guests in-
house.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
* Make beds and fold sheets.
* Remove trash, dirty linens and room service items.
* Greet guests and take care of requests.
* Straighten desk items, furniture and appliances.
* Dust, polish and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
* Vacuum carpets and floor care duties.
* Ironing residence and guest clothes.
* General cleaning in different areas in the residence as well as the laundry equipment.
* Supervise the operation in guest rooms floor.
This list is not exhaustive and you may be required to carry out additional
duties according to business needs.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience 1
* A good level of Arabic and English language skills.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in housekeeping or in a relevant role.
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
* High standard of personal presentation and able to demonstrate discretion, courtesy, and consideration at all times.
* Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
* Awareness of different detergents and cleaning supplies.
* Awareness of different amenities and facilities available in standard guest rooms.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience 1
* A strong level of English language skills.
* Familiar with computerized sheets.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have the right to live and work in Egypt.
Remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration
package for this role, including a non-negotiable gross salary of USD
427 per month subject to insurance and tax as per the usual regulations
based on a 42 hours per week, Saturday - Thursday from 9:00 - 16:00 subject to
changes and extensions according to business requirements.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary
may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
We offer a competitive package including medical benefits, performance related
bonus, recreational facilities, opportunities for job related training &
development, etc. There are no other allowances payable as part of this
package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection
with this position.
This is for a full-time employment, on a fixed-term basis for one (1) year,
subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Process:
The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take
around 2-3 months. The security clearance process includes checks available in
country and with UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and
the candidates profile and UK footprint. You may experience some delay in the
progress of this recruitment campaign, and we are working hard to minimise any
disruption.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful at interview may be placed on a
'reserve list'. If during the reserve period of six (6) months the same or a
largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second
or subsequent candidate.
The start date mentioned in the job advert is a tentative start date and the
successful candidate will be required to undergo security-vetting procedures.
Any offer of employment will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable
clearances.
