Research assistant position in Cancer Immunology. The successful applicant
will work within a research project for 2 years at the Department of
Veterinary Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Uday Kishore, PhD, FHEA,
FRSB, FRCPath. The successful candidate will assist in implementing the work
set out in the Research Grant Proposal on ‘Role of complement properdin in
pancreatic cancer’. The expected work will involve expression and purification
of human complement protein properdin, immunohistochemistry of pancreatic
cancer tissues derived from human patients and murine models, RNA-seq
analysis, and validation by RT-qPCR and in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo
functional assays. This project will be run in collaboration with College of
Medicine, UAEU and University of Gottingen, Germany.
Minimum Qualification
The applicant should have a minimal MSc degree in any discipline of life
sciences.
Preferred Qualification
The applicant must have a strong background in gene cloning, recombinant
protein expression, protein purification especially using affinity matrices,
SDS-PAGE, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemical analysis via fluorescence
and confocal microscopy, and cell culture. An ability to handle experimental
mice will be a great plus. The applicant must have a good command of English
(writing and speaking). Any evidence of research publication will be a
preferable criterion.
