Manager Inland Transportation

Key responsibilities:
* Planning and supervising the shipments from origin-destination to the end-user
* Scheduling daily & weekly routes and monitoring driver routes and hours
* Develop efficient driver schedules to maximize profits
* Tracking orders using functional systems (e.g. OTM Oracle Trucking management..etc)
* Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft
* Monitor reports and optimize transportation costs
* Research and suggest cost-effective transportation routes methods
* Responsibility to adhere to budgets and plan to maximize profitability
* Ensure documents are properly filed
* Ensure maintenance and repair needs for vehicles and equipment
* Ensuring regular safety audits on equipment are in placed
* Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
* Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping law
* Making sure vehicles are properly maintained and complying with set maintenance schedule
* Reducing the risk of vehicle overloading.
* Maintaining and completing accurate records.
* Stay up-to-date with safety regulations and traffic laws
* Making sure all the staff and equipment comply with hygiene and cleanliness standards
* Develop and implement training modules for vehicles and equipment use, car and
* Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)
* Monitoring, correcting, and improving driving behaviors and operations
* Mentoring, coaching, and rewarding drivers
* Ensure unit compliance with all Saudi laws and regulations related to vehicle repair shop operations and vehicle and mobile equipment use and car
* Ensure all the vehicles licenses are registered and valid
* Managing vehicle licenses and registration
* Find ways to cut costs and maximize profits
* Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency
* Creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle assignment to replacement cycling, from personal use to accident reporting
* Establish and monitor purchasing, operational and replacement strategies and practices for the most cost effective operation
* Purchasing and maintaining vehicles for deliveries
* Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency
* Coach and develop the team skills and ensure performance/competencies metrics are met.
* Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices
* Ensure compliance with HSE policy
* Perform other related duties as assigned
* Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principals.
* Accountable for leading, mentoring and team engagement.
* Providing direction, promoting collaboration and ensuring the team are enabled to achieve goals and objectives of the business
* Measure and monitor performance against critical criteria, policy and guidelines established by DP World
* Ensure compliance to DP World, Environment, Health, Safety, Security & IT policies and procedures.
* Understand and adhere to DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
* Ensure adherence to DP World standards and policies.
* Ensure data security is maintained to protect the privacy and interest of clients and key stakeholders.
* Manage team of professionals and disseminating knowledge through continuous learning and development.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager
Job requirements:
* Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field
* Experience : ‎7 to ‎9 years in the logistics and transportation field. Previous experience in a leadership position.
* Competencies and skills :
* Proficiency with logistics software, preparing and tracking orders, and Knowledge of transport methods, costs, and benefit
* Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel & Word )
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical mindset advanced in English and Arabic .
