Assistant Transportation Manager

Job Summary:
Amentum has an opening for an Assistant Transportation Manager in Kuwait.

The Assistant Transportation Manager is responsible to assist the
Transportation Manager in the oversight of all Transportation Operations,
shipping, driver evaluation and driver training. This role will ensure safe,
effective, and efficient operations of moving rolling stock / non-rolling
stock equipment by all modes of transportation to/from aerial ports, seaports,
and other supported locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain on-going communication with Transportation Manager to discuss department strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, cost control and overall needs
* Monitors operations to ensure personnel comply with company administrative policies and procedures
* Focuses and monitors policies, movements, and current issues within air, sea, or ground transportation to ensure accountability and efficient flow of cargo
* Plan, complete, submit and track all cargo documentation generated as required for transportation movements for all transportation modes
* Assists in planning transportation requirements for logistical support for movement operations within all modes of travel
* Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the PWS and mission requirements
* Ensures that shipments are handled quickly, safely, and on-time
* Provide customer service to the USG by being involved in solving client problems, resolving conflicts, and by acting as a liaison for the Transportation Department
* Provides supervision and technical guidance for all transportation personnel
* Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Associates degree preferred.

Experience:
* ‎7 years supervisory level of specialized experience in Transportation operations is required.
* Prior Military experience in Transportation related field desired.
* Experience supporting or training Army logistics operations desired.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
* Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, and procedures.
* must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Logistics STAMIS in use and must have the ability to properly monitor production for compliance with scheduling directives, cost factors, and other applicable standards.
* Must be able to properly develop appropriate performance standards, track transportation production, and ensure facilities operate in a safe and efficient manner.
* Working knowledge of DOD ‎4500.9-R, Defense Transportation Regulation, CFR-‎49, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, the International Air Transport Association for Dangerous Goods, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Guide, and AFMAN ‎24-‎204.
* Must demonstrate their ability to prioritize multiple demands and effectively manage time while being responsive to changing priorities.

Certification & License:
* US Citizenship required.
* Valid US driver's license required. Class A CDL preferred
* Ability to obtain SAAR approval for NIPR access required
* T1 NACI or higher required for U.S. Citizens

Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:
* Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
* Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
* Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
* Must be able to lift up to ‎50 Lbs.
