Energy & Environment, one of Ricardo plc's five operating business units, is

We are looking for Consultant with sufficient knowledge of the waste sector to
support the delivery of a variety of waste related projects for our public and
private sector clients. The Consultant will major in either waste strategy and
planning or waste infrastructure development.
Our team provide strategic and technical advice through policy support, waste
strategy development, service design and delivery, helping to create the
business case for service change, defining data requirements and collection
methodologies, modelling and benchmarking the performance of waste collection
and treatment systems and facilitating national, regional and local waste
workshops and training courses. Will also provide on the ground project
management and technical support in the mobilisation of contracts and
construction of infrastructure. Our focus is on helping clients to solve
problems and developing their capabilities to continue beyond the end of our
commission. We continue to help our clients achieve substantial savings and
balance environmental, social and economic pressures whether it be on-site or
in the board room.
Purpose
We are seeking an intelligent individual to join our Waste and Resource
Management team as a Consultant. From day one, you 'll be part of a team
supporting senior consultants in delivering high-profile projects. Our work
covers a broad range of topics from supporting on policy and strategy, to
complex technical projects covering waste operations and infrastructure.
The successful applicant will have excellent numeracy and analytical skills,
strong writing skills, a proactive approach and a commitment to producing high
quality work. We expect the Consultant to have an interest in the waste and
resource management area and to enjoy creative problem-solving.
Key accountabilities
As a Consultant you will carry out research and analysis that underpins our
consultancy work. You will manage your time across several projects,
contributing to research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and report-
writing. You will be responsible for the quality and delivery of your work and
liaise with other experts and consultants to incorporate your contribution
into wider project outputs.
Key competencies and experience
Essential

A Bachelors (2.1 or above) in engineering or environment related area.
* Be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative, as well as operate effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to interpret complex issues and data, and identify solutions quickly
* Ability to write clear, concise and accurate technical reports
* Strong computer literacy - especially in MS Excel and Word.
* An interest to develop their competency in either waste strategy or infrastructure development and engineering through project-based work.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
Desirable

An understanding of international environmental policy issues gained during
studies or work experience.
* Knowledge of Saudi Arabian and/ or other Middle Eastern environmental legislative frameworks.
* Experience in a consultancy or in a customer facing commercial setting.
* A willingness to travel to meet project requirements, including being based in client offices.
