Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Purpose of Position
Palladium is a growing company looking for an accountant to join its corporate
finance team. The primary purpose of this role is to perform day to day
corporate and project accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with local
regulations, IFRS accounting standards and Palladium 's global finance
policies.

Primary responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Corporate Accountant, are to:
* Undertake the daily recording of financial transactions;
* Responsible for new account codes creation (account sets, customers); maintain approved up-to-date vendor/supplier database on the accounts payable system.
* Check, review and post journal entries in a timely manner;
* Provide assistance to A/P on issues related to payment authorizations (account coding, GST/VAT), verifying that all invoices are supported by duly approved, applicable supporting documents.
* Ensure that A/P invoices are properly recorded and payment processing is done on time; obtain approval for invoices from the appropriate department prior to processing the invoice on the accounts payable system.
* Perform A/P & A/R reconciliation and ensure that discrepancies are highlighted and resolved;
* Provide accurate monthly reports and assist in month-end closing by ensuring that all journal entries, accruals, fixed assets booking, depreciation are posted on time;
* Support in maintaining relationships with financial institutions and client finance departments
* Respond to project queries promptly;
* Ensure that all physical and scanned records are kept as necessary;
* Maintain the financial system ensuring great accountability and transparency;
* Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Reporting requirements
The role reports to the Financial Controller. Reporting requirements include:
* Attendance at all weekly team meetings as required.
* Regular updates with your line manager.
* Monthly submission of assigned reports.

Required Qualifications:

A strong relevant experience
* Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance. ACCA/CMA preferred.
* Prior experience with ERP systems and IFRS accounting standards
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast-paced environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Arabic)
* Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of discretion is required
* Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
