Job Overview:
To co-ordinate and supervise activities of leaderman and foreman. Must ensure
compliance with HSE, Quality and Ethics policy and attached line supervision
responsibilities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Set and apply standards of safety and quality relative to project requirements
* Communicate fluently with colleagues and co-workers.
* Read and understand shop drawings, project specifications, and procedures.
* Where necessary read and understand a dimensional survey, and be capable of taking the correct remedial action.
* Look one week ahead in planning work for the crew
* Utilise the ‎4 week look ahead in planning of work
* Provide the Leadermen with the drawings and information required to do the work
* Interface with the field engineer / production engineer to ensure material is available for the planned work
* Set targets of production for each Leaderman in his crew
* Allocate work to each of the men allocated to the Foreman based on the person's capabilities and qualifications
* Drive those Foreman is responsible for, to achieve progress
* Take action where standards and targets are not met.
* Measure each man's output and advise that man of his performance / productivity
* Address any issues of poor quality / productivity and take action where appropriate.
* Where necessary refer quality / progress / productivity issues to supervisor.
* Ensure proper drawings and cut lists are issued to the relevant sections
* Inform Leaderman of any revisions in drawings and cut lists.
* Co-ordinate the work schedules of sections and assure that it is maintained.
* Maintain supplies of material for the sections coordinating with Leaderman and Supervisor.
* Assure priorities are met as per planning
* Supervise the team
* Inspect job conforms to requirements
* Observe work of fitters and take corrective action involving Leaderman when needed, to ensure good quality with speedy results.
* Keep all records of Dimensional checks carried out by Leaderman.
* Confirm all dimensions are within tolerance.
* Recommend measures to improve production methods.
* Attend Supervisors' meeting every Wednesday and be involved in schedule planning.
* Review schedule with the Leadermen on a regular day to day basis.
* Ensure equipment and tools are used properly and maintained in good working condition and request replacements when necessary.
* Maintain safety regulations and company policies.
* Attend crew safety meetings on Monday mornings.
* Observe employees at work for unsafe acts.
* Co-ordinate with Leaderman and lead housekeeping.
