Accountable To
Responsible for the navigation and the seaworthiness of Tug boats and for
facilitating the berthing and un-berthing of vessels arriving at or leaving
the port, while implementing and maintaining total compliance with the Safety
Management system in accordance with Safeen safety and environmental
protection policy
Responsible for
Assume responsibility as the Company
representative on the tug with ultimate on board authority to take all
decisions in relation to securing and maintaining safe ship operations and for
effective environmental protection.
Working Relationship
Provide tug assistance, as part of a team, for the berthing and un-berthing of
vessels, either alongside the jetty or at the offshore mooring, ensuring that
all operations are carried out in strict compliance with the Safety Management
System and Company HSE policy.
Objectives and Role Profile
Ensure the tug remains seaworthy and compliant by undergoing regular status
and classification surveys.
Plan and supervise the on-going programme for on board maintenance in order to
ensure the tug is in optimum operational status and the asset value is
protected.
Key Tasks and Performance Indicators
Ensure that the Safety Management System is fully implemented and complied
with in accord with the Company's Safety and Environmental protection policy.
Conduct regular safety meetings and drills to ensure crew members are aware of
safety requirements and their individual roles in incident/accident response
crew members.
Qualifications/Experience/Competencies
Master-Foreign Going class I regulation II/2
Valid STCW 95 certifications.
