Cost Estimator

Job Description

Supports and performs the administration and preparation of cost estimates,
bills of quantities and pricing to support technical and commercial
requirements associated with the design, engineering, licensing, procurement,
construction and commissioning of the BNPP under various Contracts including,
but not limited to cost mapping of schedule activities, evaluation and
negotiation of rates and the development and maintenance of a cost estimate
database.
General Activities
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Prepare cost estimates for use verification of Contractor's pricing submissions.
* Review cost estimates prepared by contractor or others.
* Provide support in verification of interim payments.
* Carryout sensitivity analysis of program resourcing issues in support of project controls activities.
* Conduct benchmarking as appropriate for cost estimating and negotiation purposes.
Change Management and Fixed Rates
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Prepare cost estimates for the assessment of change both in terms of cost and resource.
* Conduct benchmarking as appropriate for cost estimating and negotiation of changes/variations.
Cost Verification
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Provide assistance in resource loading of schedules as required by planning and contracts teams for interim payment progress assessments.
HSE, Security and Business Continuity
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Follow all relevant company's HSE policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure HSE compliance in all aspects of work in accordance with sound management practices by applying these HSE policies and procedures to self and others to take reasonable care for the health and safety of people, or the environment, who are at the employee's place of work who may be affected by the employees acts or omissions at work.
* Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
* Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission-critical activities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
* Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.

Skills

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
