leading school in the GCC by providing an innovative, inquiry based education
that empowers its student to become successful life-long learners. The school
is an open plan format (not walled classrooms) and includes break out spaces
for quiet learning areas, but is not set out as a traditional individual
class. This is to allow for the style of learning, so teachers work in a
collaborative style with team teaching.
The school has great sports facilities including: aquatic centre, ‎400 metre
track, grass pitches, in for and outdoor basketball, beach volleyball, tennis
court and cricket nets. The school has its own farm with animals and grows
herbs and vegetables. They also have a recycling centre, several playgrounds,
a theatre/gymnasium and an additional full court gymnasium.
Location: Oman is a most welcoming, politically stable and friendly country.
It has beautiful scenery, wonderful beaches, a very rich culture, and a sunny
climate that enables a wide range of outdoor activities to be pursued
throughout the year. Sohar in particular is a lovely community and welcoming.
Sohar is located ‎2 hours north of Muscat, so applicants must be aware of
smaller town lifestyle.
Requirements: BA degree and Teacher certification is required. Knowledge of
the IB curriculum is preferred or inquiry based curriculum experience and
strong organisational and outstanding communications skills are key attributes
along with strong team work ability. Being a small school and community, open
minded and collaborative teachers who are prepared to get stuck in and help
out, whilst have a good sense of humour would be ideal.
