Duties



  • Serves as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on conventional and unconventional threats to US forces for the CJTF-OIR CJ2.

  • Briefs intelligence assessments and reports tailored for the CJTF-OIR Commander.

  • Develops and maintains Intelligence Preparation of the Environment (IPE) products, Intelligence Estimates and Appendices, forecasts, and projections.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

  • In accordance with Change ‎3 to AR ‎600-‎85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

  • Travel may be required approximately ‎10% of the time

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

  • Emergency Essential Statement: Position may be designated Emergency Essential (E-E) in support of mobilization and wartime mission. Please see additional information section.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described
below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer
work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps)
and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all
qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must
clearly describe your relevant experience.


To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one
year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-[‎12] that prepared you to do this
job. Specialize experience is defined and experience which includes experience
developing all-source intelligence Operational Plans and/or Contingency Plans;
determining resource allocation such as, identifying military units,
intelligence skills, equipment and/or transportation to support
mission/operations requirements. This definition of specialize experience is
typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal
service.


Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-
related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience
should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence
collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly
related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate:
Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of
and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs,
statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and
methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence
data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and
analyzing intelligence data.

E-E employees are required to undergo nuclear-biological and chemical training and to participate in readiness tests, mobilization, alerts, and field training exercises. Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location. Prior to appointment to the position, employee will sign a statement agreeing to the E-E condition of employment.

  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action. Emergency Essential Civilians are required to sign a DoD Form ‎2365. This position requires the employee to sign a mobility agreement under the provisions of the agency mobility program.

  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of ‎1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
