Principal Planner - ( 2201239 )
Job Overview:
This role will provide overall leadership in developing and updating the
master plan across all areas of the project, overall supervision and direction
on all planning related activities and be proactive in ensuring that the
schedule problems are properly addressed by the disciplines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Prepare project planning procedures defining programme requirements, levels of detail, programme formats, resource planning requirements, progress assessment methods, reporting requirements and frequency.
* Prepare and co-ordinate multi-discipline summary level programmes. To provide guidance to planning staff in preparation of detailed programmes.
* Attend regular progress meetings with project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction as appropriate to ensure the work is being carried out in line with the agreed programme.
* Ensure the proper interfacing of programmes between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, Installation, Commissioning as appropriate.
* Establish planning IT requirements, co-ordinate and direct their implementation.
* Issue the initial project programme, planning package and subsequent updates
* Direct and support in preparation Level 1, 2, 3 schedules in Primavera (Logic linked & Resourced).
* Ensure all level 3 inputs into Level 4 set up in applicable databases
* Facilitate Project Schedule Risk Analysis at regular intervals
* Ensure the timely collection of accurate updated information and its incorporation into programmes, analyse the effects of the updated information and highlight any adverse situations to the Project Controls Manager and Project Manager.
* Evolve and propose possible solutions to programming problems.
* Ensure the timely preparation of charts and diagrams as required for reports, indicating planned, actual and forecast.
* Prepare narratives for reports, analyse achievements and their likely effects on remaining scope of work.
* Incorporate changes to the scope of work into programmes, histograms and progress curves and analyse their effects.
* Supervise the work of planning staff to ensure their conformance with project and company procedures.
* Establish effective working relationships with other disciplines and functions and project staff to assist in the provision of timely and accurate update information.
* Support auditors during Internal and external audit
* Implement the Lesson Learnt as applicable for Project control function
* Histogram are communicated to leads & PEM on weekly basis as per the project and MDR management Requirements.
* Issue of weekly reports consisting of progress, delay impact analysis, shortfall / slippages to forecast for catch-up plan, Man-hour concerns and productivity analysis to address during weekly Progress review meeting.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Previous minimum experience of 17 years, ideally in Oil and Gas projects
* Leadership qualities
* Good Communication skills, team player
* Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Office suite
