Summary
The International Schools Group (ISG) is a not-for-profit, forward-looking
school district in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Our five schools are
co-educational day schools delivering Kindergarten ‎1 to Grade ‎12 in the
American program and Foundation Stage ‎1 through Year ‎13 in the British program
to expatriate children and some students from the host country. Students
enroll in either an American or British curriculum education that encompasses
these higher-level programs: Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma and/or
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at American School
Dhahran, ISG Dammam, and ISG Jubail and (I)GCSE and A levels at British School
Dhahran.
History
Founded in ‎1962 and now in its 60th year, ISG was originally established to
serve the needs of expatriate families working for the U.S. Consulate in
Dhahran.
From its initial enrollment of six students to its present status as a
district of five schools with approximately ‎3,200 students, ISG has earned a
reputation for providing the highest quality American and British education.
Today, over ‎50 nationalities make up the ISG community.
Governance
The district is governed by a Board of Trustees, supported by school councils,
and the U.S. Consulate General Dhahran, and is licensed by the Saudi Arabian
Ministry of Education.

Our schools are accredited by some of the top institutions in the world: the
Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-
CESS), British Schools of the Middle East (BSME), British Schools Overseas
(BSO), and the International Baccalaureate (IB).

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL VACANCY FOR ‎2023-‎2024 SCHOOL YEAR
The American School Dhahran (ASD) seeks a dynamic candidate with proven school
leadership experience to join ASD on August ‎1, ‎2023 to serve as the Elementary
Assistant Principal beginning in the ‎2023-‎2024 school year. The Elementary
Assistant Principal will join a school leadership team comprised of the
Principal, Assistant Principals, and grade level and department facilitators.
American School Dhahran at a glance
First established in ‎1962 as Dhahran Academy, American School Dhahran offers
an American, standards-based curriculum to ‎1200 KG1 - Grade ‎12 students with
select AP and IB courses available at the high school level.
Courses are designed based on established and respected standards and are not
taught simply from textbooks, a model shown to be innovative in terms of
moving to increased student-centered classrooms focused on learner agency. The
continually updated curricular areas are designed with learner outcomes as the
focus, and excellent text materials are used as primary sources of
information. American School Dhahran is currently led by one Principal and
three Assistant Principals, one at each level (Elementary, Middle, High).

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
* Administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with district and school policies, receives referrals and confers with students, parents, and teachers
* Respond to and resolves parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints.
* Serve on discipline or expulsion panels as assigned
* Monitor and organize attendance: prepare letters, call parents and attend meetings as needed regarding absent or tardy students
* Provide direction to a variety and observations: provide feedback as appropriate
* Participate as needed in Student Success Team meetings
* Attend meetings and offers support as needed to the Parent/Teacher Group
* Oversee the admissions procedures at the school and supports the registrar in performing their duties
* Be the site system administrator for Skywards (SIS)
* Be the site administrator for Google
* Be the site administrator for NWEA MAP; responsible for preparing and maintaining rosters; training proctors; preparing and overseeing the testing schedule; communicating to parents, students and teachers; producing necessary reports for upload to the SIS
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
Qualifications and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with a qualification in Education
* Master’s degree preferred in Educational Leadership
