APQ COOP Trainee - Project Management

Job Description and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
* The CO-OP will be part of Project Management Team for Air Products Qudra, Head office at Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV), and will be assigned to the Project Site located at Jubail-II.
* Will be focused on learning, evaluating, and preparing best practices by being part of APQ world scale Project with opportunities to apply, expand and consolidate their knowledge in a real working environment.
* The CO-OP will be supporting the APQ Jubail Industrial Gas Hub, a world-scale steam methane reformer (SMR) to produce hydrogen; an air separation unit (ASU) to produce oxygen and nitrogen; hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (PSA) units to recover hydrogen from off-gases; and pipeline networks to connect and transport industrial gases to the broad refinery and chemical customer base in the region.
* Will be given technical expertise as required to assist in overseeing and coordinating any engineering analysis, construction site activities, and support of proof-of-concept or final system testing.
* Will be required to deliver high quality products to tight deadlines. Additionally, the CO-OP will also closely coordinate to learn how to work in a team and deliver quality products within set timeframes.
* Support in the procurement and logistics tracking of materials by following up with the purchases, deliveries and monitoring of availability at site.
* Assist in preparing/reviewing design briefs and design reports that address specific APQ and stakeholder requirements and specifications as and when necessary.
* Assist in ensuring the documents prepared meet the quality standard requirements
* Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures.
* Promotes a safe work environment through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures.

Primary Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be
assigned:
* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
* Develop working understanding of jobsite coordination, schedules, quality control and safety.
* Perform engineering design calculations and regular quality checks as necessary.
* Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries and workforce levels.
* Ability to read and understand Standards, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings and models.
* Ability to effectively present information in written, verbal, and presentation form
* Ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data, propose a solution.
* Work productively with others in evaluating problems and alternatives.
* Attend project progress meetings with contractors.
* Conduct technical presentations/demonstrations as necessary.
* Support the project team to record, distribute and monitor completion of punch list and other quality control inspections.
* Assist in compiling and verifying project closeout documentation.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* Undergraduate degree in mechanical / electrical engineering.
* Broad technical background in areas such as CAD design systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and/or electro-mechanical design and control system development.
* Strong problem-solving skills, and the pragmatic application of strong mechanical design theory and analytical skills.
