Summary
The School Nurse will be part of a small dynamic team staffing the Nurse's
office. She will be responsible for implementing the school health program and
is required to provide health care and emergency first aid services to
students and employees on the ISG Dammam Campus as needed throughout the
school year.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be able to effectively:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
* Identify and report signs and symptoms of abuse
* Promote a healthy school environment for the physical and emotional safety of the school community. The school nurse monitors immunizations, assures appropriate exclusion from school, and reports communicable diseases as required. The school nurse provides leadership to the school in implementing precautions for bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases, assesses the physical environment of the school, and takes action to improve health and safety
* The school nurse is a member of the coordinated school health team that promotes the health and well being of school members through collaborative efforts
* Screen and refer for health conditions in order to address potential health problems that are barriers to learning or symptoms of underlying medical conditions, the school nurse engages in screening activities, referrals and follow-up
* Document and log all visits to the clinic
* For incidents of a serious nature, the nurse must complete an incident report
* Maintain the privacy and discretion of each visitor to the clinic
* Safely and securely store all medications. Administer them only in an appropriate and prescribed manner
* Maintain a sufficient inventory of appropriate and necessary medical supplies
* Appropriately diagnose and treat minor injuries and ailments
* Train staff in CPR / First Aid
* Maintain accurate, confidential medical files on all members of the school community including immunizations
* Document and record all medications administered
* The school nurse may take on additional roles/hours to meet the needs of the school community and any other duties as assigned by the Administrators.
Qualifications and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
* Qualifications to provide CPR / First Aid certification training
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will have:
Experience
* Minimum of ‎3 years experience working in the medical field as a healthcare provider
* Experience in working within a school or community setting
* Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Skills
* Excellent command of the English and Arabic languages, both verbal and written
