Accounting Analyst

Objective:
* The new Finance Accounting Target Operating Model (TOM) is a strategic project part of the JVC Finance programmer, with the objective to establish a new Financial Accounting TOM as part of the deployment of Oracle Cloud ERP Financials, to deliver cost/ efficiency benefits and to position JVC to take full advantage of future digitalization innovations by ensuring the adherence to global standards and continually improving processes.
* The Accountant Analyst will be responsible for performing the accounting processes by working closely with the Operations, Treasury, Tax & Compliance, Controlling and other departments.
* The Accounting Analyst will implement and execute standard financial processes to timely generate quality financial information, to meet reporting requirements and prepare statutory returns for regulatory authorities, control financial resources and achieve compliance to accounting practices in line with global processes, financial policies, controlling guidelines, compliance standards and legal requirements.
General Responsibilities:
* Support in developing and administering Accounting & Accounting Governance plans and processes for accounting function.
* Deliver Accounting & Accounting Governance projects in line with accounting principles, financial policies, controlling guidelines, Group standards and legal requirements.
* Reconcile more complex accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries including fixed assets to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete.
* Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements to provide accurate and timely information to senior management.
* Ensure accuracy, timelines and the general integrity of the accounting function and related reports.
* Update and maintain financial systems including exporting and importing of files into databases.
* Train staff on the financial systems and related financial/ accounting processes.
* Convey others to support reporting and reconciliation tasks.
* Perform accounting processes in scope like month end, reconciliations, fixed assets accounting etc.
* Regular engagement with other teams and shared services on inputs and outputs for the completion of common processes.
* Focus on building deep business knowledge to facilitate judgmental decisions.
* Manage updates and maintenance of the period end and year end closing schedules.
* Manages cash flow, working capital requirements and bank relationships.
* Perform review and reconciliation of the balance sheet and bank accounts on a periodic basis producing appropriate working papers and other supporting documentation.
* Provide regular updates to the Tower Managers on process completion and any escalations.
* Deliver the processes in scope to the agreed KPI requirements and support performance management.
* Support the continuous improvement agenda by providing documented suggestions on how quality and efficiency might be improved.
Qualification:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Accounting (mandatory).
* ‎2-‎5 years' experience in Finance & Accounting (mandatory).
* Experience of performing accounting in a logistics or similar industry would be a preference.
* Experience of using Oracle Cloud would be a preference.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Work collaboratively with other accounting officers within organization.
* Utilize math skills to analyze key financial data.
* Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise.
* Strong knowledge of financial compliance and reporting requirements in relation to accounting standards (IFRS) and local GAAPs in scope.
* Coach and review the work of staff members under direct supervision.
* Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Financial Policies, Account Reconciliation, Accounting Standards, Accounting Analysis, Transaction Management, Financial Reporting, Forecasting, Microsoft Excel, Finance IT Systems, Business Processes, Accuracy.
* Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties e.g., external service providers.
* Change agent for new financial/ accounting processes, concepts, and practices.
* Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with counterparts or internal customers in JVC Finance and operations. Act as 'part of the team', with JVC colleagues.
* Develop strong relationships with other group centers/ hubs to ensure seamless working and best practice sharing.
* Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
* Ability to learn and use new financial tools and reporting systems.
* Ability to communicate to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
