Summary
The Finance Assistant position will work in payroll and could also be assigned
other duties within the Finance department. The Finance Assistant does ISG
payroll functions, HR, and banking compliance with various internal and
external agencies, as well as Student Accounts and some purchasing. Within
payroll, you will assist and shadow the Payroll Manager and ensure payroll is
carried out on time, accurately, and in compliance with government
regulations.
Job Duties
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
* Develop and run standardized payroll reports
* Ensure all payroll compliance aligns with HR and government regulations, policies, and laws
* Determine functions that can be outsourced in payroll
* Assist with Overseeing the workflow of the Payroll department
* Work on short-term projects to execute organizational goals
* Accurate reporting of new hires, terminations, end of service, status changes, and sub payroll
* Ensure confidentiality of payroll records
* Help in running Payroll
* Communicate with the bank on all ACH files and issues
* Assist in standardizing and automating the payroll function
* Make suggestions for continuous improvement within the Finance department
* Help in Maintaining dashboards
* Assist with enrollment and re-enrollment on an as needed basis
* Issue invoices and receipts during re-enrollment on an as needed basis
* Continuously correspond with employees
* Manages the system (School Buddy) for the co-curricular school activities in coordination with the Athletics Director
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Director

* Familiar with accounting systems such as Engage, Open Apply, Skyward systems and their different units (student accounts, payroll, purchasing, budgets, VAT)
* Knowledge of IT and passion to innovate

* Able to enhance the efficiencies of finance activities, methodologies, and environments, working in partnership with IT and external resources as appropriate
