Role Purpose :
The primary purpose is to manage a portfolio of Chinese clients across
multiple sectors within the Egypt team. Acquisition of GB and CMB
relationships and improving income generation through focused business
development activities.
The jobholder reports both to the Heads of ISB and MNC Egypt and Regional
functional reporting to Regional China Desks (ISB/MNC). S/he will work closely
with both HSBC China and Country Head of ISBs and MNC in MENAT to identify
opportunities, introduce initiatives and increase inbound revenues.


This is a strategically important senior role which will drive collaboration
across this increasingly important corridor and achieve the maximum benefit
from the unrivalled position HSBC holds in both China and MENAT.


The jobholder will:



  • Manage and develop a portfolio of own clients by deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities

  • Contribute to the continued development of the HSBC Egypt Multinationals and ISB business in line with BRI strategy.

  • Ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer enquiries and concerns by problem solving and facilitating the process by liaising with product and support areas

  • Work with MNC and ISB Regional Desks identifying strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return, increase revenues while optimizing the utilization of credit facilities, and ensure early identification of potential credit issues.

  • Work with CMO on the preparation of structured and focused credit memorandums for clients within the sectors, covering annual reviews and new money proposals

  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved

  • Work with the Client Management and KYC on the completion of Client Due Diligence (CDD) process for portfolio under management

  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

  • Develop a strong sectorial/product expertise and provide high quality competitor and client level analysis to support business development and credit risk assessment

  • Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager, or as agreed in annual objectives, in support of achieving the business objectives of ISB and MNC desks
    Impact on the Business

  • Identify the potential customers, mainly the subsidiaries located in Egypt, who are headquartered in China and banking with HSBC China.

  • Develop dialogue on International business with MNC,LC and MME HSBC China clients at subsidiary level to drive strategic revenue opportunities with key clients.

  • Ensure respective engagement with key internal stakeholders to ensure relevant buy-in for strategy and execution in order to drive revenues.

  • Lead all activities in respect of strategic collaboration initiatives, acting as a key player in directing cross-regional and cross-business partnerships to deepen customer relationships and optimize profits.

* Act as the Egypt lead on a China related business and set the strategy and tone of engagement between the countries.
* Join-Up with other regional/customer/product/support groups, teams in HSBC China , Egypt and MENAT region,
Operational Effectiveness & Control



  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

  • In conjunction with Compliance department, to implement the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant compliance department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

  • To be alert to operational risks and losses during the execution of their day to day responsibilities. Should an employee become aware of emerging or inadequately controlled operational risk or identify an operational risk loss, they must report this to their line manager, ensuring that it is reported to their local Operational Risk Co-ordinator.

  • To adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls


Requirements
Qualifications :
* Experience in multinationals /corporate/ commercial or investment banking, ideally as a credit analyst or a junior relationship manager focused on larger corporate clients
* Minimum of three years frontline Relationship Management experience
* Sound knowledge of credit risk and financial analysis
* Good knowledge of the Bank's structures, products and services.
* Knowledge of FX, cash management, trade Finance products & trade structures documentation and associated risks
* Knowledge of regulatory provisions relating to banking and finance would be an advantage


EXPERIENCE
* Proven track record in a corporate client focussed environment and an ability to anticipate clients' needs and tailor service delivery to them.
* Proven ability to work with and present to senior management of our clients.
* Experience in HSBC China will be an asset.

* Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin
