architectural project engineer
Role Purpose:
The Project Engineer is responsible for handling design, technical
specifications, standards required to ensure proper implementation of projects
assigned within Business Development. The role holder is also responsible for
supporting project teams, assisting in project coordination and supervising
vendors/contractors to ensure work is completed as per required standards and
in a timely manner.
Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Design Planning and Execution
* Conduct feasibility studies in coordination with the team to ensure that all specifications and standards of approved projects meet organization's requirements
* Participate in tender preparation stage by ensuring all relevant technical aspects of the tender are in place through directing different project team members from the different departments
* Participate in evaluating the tender of contractors to ensure that the company is competent to handle the project construction
* Analyse building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on designs and budgeting
* Determine the structural, electrical and mechanical designs in accordance with the approved frameworks
* Review and ensure dimensions and other material specifications meet planned requirements
Project Coordination
* Coordinate the work of construction personnel on construction projects
* Coordinate with project team members and construction team during project design and execution stages with regards to rights of way to ensure that all government regulations are adhered to
* Escalate to project manager any technical and operational changes that arise during construction
* Arrange material inspection activities by scheduling and informing relevant team members and reporting compliance
* Coordinate contracts and escalate issues and problems related to project construction to project manager and relevant parties to ensure that all issues are addressed and resolved
* Report status/progress of job to project manager
Contractor Management
* Oversee and supervise the activities of contractor personnel to ensure that all work takes place in a compliant manner which guarantees the delivery of a high quality service and as per specifications/relevant standards
* Review, certify work completion / progress, issue completion certificates and provide regular reports to project manager
Benchmarking and Documentation
* Prepare, obtain and assemble design standards and benchmarking data and maintain records
* Prepare and maintain archive for technical specifications and openings
Human Capital Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
* Apply and follow MAFR's Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
* Provide training and feedback to direct reportees when required
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications/education
* Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering field
Minimum experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related function

* AUTOCAD User
