OBJECTIVES*
Palladium - TRADE project is seeking to hire an experienced Data Collection/
Analyst short term consultant with experience working with export-related
service providers with the aim to support collecting, analyzing, and verifying
data for those service providers.

The purpose of the Data Collection/ analysis consultancy is to collect data
for use in a mobile application that will be used by members of Businesswomen
of Egypt (BWE21) to quickly identify service providers they need to
effectively and efficiently export.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
* Collect validated names and contact information, as well as, type of service, for service providers (companies or individuals) in the following areas:

Logisitics:

* Freight forwarding agencies
* Customs clearance agencies
* Shipping companies
* Trucking and transportation companies

• Financial and investment services


• Law firms/legal advisors


• Business linkages/B2B matching making services (matching Egyptian exporters with foreign buyers)


• Digital marketing and website development


• Ecommerce advisory services


• Branding, marketing, design, public relations agencies


• Trade exhibitions preparation consultants


• Food safety advisors


• Cerfitication preparation/audit consultants


• Certification/inspection/quality control companies


• Export-related training and export advisory services (e.g., export strategy, market intelligence, market research, etc.)


• Labeling and packaging consultants


• Insurance companies


• Human resource management services


• Accountancy services

• 
  

  Draft a succinct email questionnaire/survey for BWE21 to send to its exporting members requesting the following information:

  
  


• Services providers that they use in the categories above (and any others)


• Contact information for the service provider they use/used (name, title, phone, email)


• Rating of the service (‎1-‎5 stars, ‎5 stars being the best)


• 
  

  Written comment on the service received from that provider and ensuring that they do not mind if their comment is seen by other BWE21 members and, eventually, other subscribers.

  Follow up, in close coordination with BWE21, with no less than ‎30 BWE21 exporting members to ensure their responses are collected.

  
  

DELIVERABLE

• Completed and validated database of service providers in all categories listed above in an Excel spreadsheet including at minimum (information needs to be disaggregated as much as possible so it can be uploaded onto a mobile application being developed concurrently:


• Type of Service provided (list of services)


• Name of service provider


• Physical address (or addresses if multiple locations)


• Website and social media accounts


• Name(s) of contact person(s)


• Title of contact person(s)


• Cell phone number of contact person(s)


• Email addresses of contact person(s)


• Ratings collected from BWE21 members on the service provider


• Comments collected from BWE21 members on the service provider


• Database (above) must be provided in both English and Arabic.


• Brief consultancy report in English that contains the purpose of the consultancy, progress achieved, observations, issues and / or problems encountered, and details of expected follow-on activities by USAID TRADE or its counterparts.

Qualifications:
* College education with equivalent of B.A. or B.S. in related field with at least ‎5 years ' professional experience in business/ commercial data collection and analysis.
* Strong understanding of the export ecosystem and types of service providers needed.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Fluency in English.
Project Overview and Role:
USAID 's Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on
decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with
the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on six selected sectors:
engineering products, food processing, home textiles, ready-made garments,
chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the
Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and
reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and
export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small- and
medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access
new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade
and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and
drive economic growth.
