Modern English School Cairo (MES Cairo) is seeking to appoint a dynamic,
experienced and visionary Director for August ‎2023 to join this well
established and high performing independent international school.

MES Cairo has a long and successful history, having opened its doors ‎32 years
ago. Today, it welcomes over ‎2300 students aged ‎3.5-‎18, with the majority
joining at Foundation Stage and remaining until graduation. MES Cairo is a
vibrant, fully subscribed school of choice for families in Cairo, with
waitlists at every year level and pupils who benefit from consistently high
standards of education through their educational journey.
The school offers the English National Curriculum at Primary level and at
Secondary level, students have the choice of entering either the British or
American section. The IB Diploma is also proposed as a pathway to graduation
in the final two years. All graduates from MES Cairo go on to university, with
over ‎65% accepting offers from competitive UK universities. MES Cairo employs
‎185 qualified (QTS) expatriate teachers and provides them with stability and

The new Director will inherit the leadership of a high achieving school that

Reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors, the successful
applicant will:
* Serve as an outstanding leader for MES Cairo and contribute to the realisation of the BOD's vision for the school, supporting the School in all of its endeavours.
* Provide visionary leadership, inspire staff and pupils, positively engage MES Cairo families and serve the school community and beyond as a figurehead.
* Provide strategic leadership on all matters relating to the quality of teaching and learning for all MES Cairo students.
* Provide direction to the Senior Leadership Team, reinforcing the school's 'One School' ethos.
* Ensure all policies, practices, systems and accountability mechanisms are highly functional and contribute to the school's continued success.
* Embrace the mission, vision and values of MES Cairo.
