Project Background
EGA is a five-year activity (‎2020-‎2025) funded by the U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID)
as part of the bilateral agreement between the Government of Egypt (GoE) and
the United States. This
project, which is implemented by DAI Global LLC, will support the investment
climate in Egypt through
enhancing economic governance and promoting administrative and institutional
development in line with
Egypt's Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) ‎2030, the National Anti-
Corruption Strategy ‎2019-‎2022,
and the Administrative Reform Vision of Egypt. In doing so, the project
supports the efforts of the GoE
to enhance the quality of public administration through adopting more
inclusive and efficient tools that
ensure the needs and priorities of citizens and the private sector are
reflected, thus promoting a positive
investment climate in Egypt.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Specialist will support all
activities related to the Project's innovation interventions under Objective ‎3
as follows:
* Conduct research and provide technical support to activities related to innovation,
entrepreneurship, incubators, and start-up accelerator programs with focus on
public service
delivery.
* Support the development and implementation of a strategy to attract venture capital to local start-ups, specifically in the ICT sector.
* Advise on business models potentially developed by start-ups and could be adapted to innovation in public services delivery.
* In close consultation with the DCoP and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Technical Advisor, coordinate with government counterparts on relevant areas focused on innovation and entrepreneurship with emphasis on public service delivery.
* Draft, review, and provide technical input to any reports, research papers, policy briefs, presentations submitted to EGA by contracted consultants or firms relevant to this scope of work.
* Develop and/or provide technical input to scopes of work being developed for consultants who could support EGA's objective ‎3 activities.
* Provide input to the development of technical specifications and/or requirements related to the procurement of any services applicable to entrepreneurship, innovation, and information technology.
* Support the organization and management of events, workshops, conferences including advice on the structure of these events, their objectives, proposed participants, moderators, and speakers etc.
* Support the development and drafting of various reports, research and presentations prepared for
EGA, government officials, or USAID.
* Participate as necessary in drafting and/or reviewing relevant sections of the workplan, quarterly
and annual donor reports, as well as internal DAI reports.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, or any related field.
* Minimum ‎8 years of experience in project management, innovation, or entrepreneurship focused roles.
* Solid understanding of USAID rules and regulations is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
* Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for
others.
* Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
* Outstanding interpersonal /communications skills.
* Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
