This Opportunity

LBS is seeking a full-time Air Freight Manager at our location at the Al
Mubrarak Airport in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will Perform all tasks
associated with the safe and correct operation of the Air Terminal as directed
by management, regulations, policies, Instructions and the Performance Work

Your Impact

Who You Are

• Assistant Air Freight manager acts as Alternate Air Freight Manager when required.


• Responsible for all the safe and correct operation for their assigned shift.


• Facilitate safe loading and unloading of cargo and baggage on and off government owned or contracted aircraft, surface conveyances, and commercial pallet dollies IAW AFI ‎24-‎605, Volume ‎2 and other applicable instructions.


• Coordinate employee training that are assigned to their shift.


• Periodically evaluate employee's performance based on established criteria.


• Track and document training in the employee training records.


• Decertify all employees that fail evaluations and facilitate refresher training.


• Monitor proper validation, selection, staging and upload aircraft loads utilizing the load plan.


• Verify the proper section to facilitate onward movement of cargo/mail.


• Enforce proper procedures on build-up / break-down baggage pallets, multi-pallet trains, loose cargo, and mixed pallets.


• Review shift workforce training for GATES systems as required.


• Enforce safety program.


• Monitor all Cargo Processing, Special Handling, and Load Planning functions to ensure compliance with AFI ‎24-‎605, Volumes ‎2 and DTR ‎4500-‎9 Parts ‎2 and ‎3, and AFMAN ‎24-‎604 and other applicable instructions.


• Compile and provide to management accurate data for all required Performance Work Statement (PWS) reports.


• Verify terminal and joint inventories of special handling cargo procedures are properly done.


• Ensure cargo is processed within six (‎6) hours of receipt or release from frustrated status.


• Schedule timely pick-up / release of cargo and mail.


• Monitor GATES reports to ensure data base integrity.


• Test manual procedures and ensure employees are properly trained on manual procedures.


• Ensure surface conveyances are safely and properly loaded.


• Ensure maximum aircraft utilization based upon available airlift and existing port backlogs.


• Ensure on-time aircraft departures.


• Ensure all LBS controlled areas are clean and neat in appearance.


• Monitor vehicle parking to ensure employees comply with the published parking plan.


• Develop work schedules and submits to the Air Freight manager


• Accomplish a daily attendance report and forwards to the Air Freight manager.


• Oversee the safe and correct operation of K-loaders, forklifts, buses, tugs, vans or other required vehicles, ensure daily inspection utilizing check lists and ‎1800's forms and ensure vehicles in need of repair or service are properly turned in to maintenance.


• Perform supplemental duties in Air Freight or other work centers as required by the Air Freight Manager.
  Required Qualifications


• Must have a minimum of one (‎1) year of experience with Air Terminal Ground Handling requirements.


• Shall have extensive experience with administrative leadership, and a working knowledge of aerial port operating procedures to include aircraft loading procedures that allows them to supervise and execute the services required in the Performance Work Statement.


• Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs. Must be detail oriented, motivated and drive to perform at a high level.


• Must be able to comprehend English to include reading and writing.


• Must maintain a valid driver's license.


• You will be required to maintain a valid passport.


• You will be required to maintain Secret clearance.

  NOTE ‎1: The Air Freight Asst. Manager will be required to work in multiple
  areas of ATGHS
  NOTE ‎2: The Air Freight Asst. Manager is a physically challenging position;
  extended periods of standing, walking, pushing and lifting are required
